  1. Well, I went to my local Mexican restaurant last night and had too many margaritas watching the game. Of course the Mexicans came to cheer on their country, but I was shocked to see Americans cheering against the USA. Its a crazy world. Anyway, I’m in recovery mode.

  2. Rossi is Judas – unfortunately your tears of joy will turn into tears of sadness when the matches are interrupted for Sports Center updates about the most recent NASCAR results. I just hope I can restrain myself from throwing a beer at my TV.

  3. 6 hours of soccer on the ESPN networks this weekend. I never thought I’d see the day (in a non-World Cup year). I might cry out of pure happiness. 🙂

  4. I haven’t been following the standings that closely but I just took a look to see if any of the other MLS games were interseting. Wow, talk about parity, there are only 2 points between 2nd and 8th place and when you take games played into consideration things look even closer:

    1st 32 pts 18games

    2nd -4 -1

    3rd -4 -1

    4th -5 -1

    5th -5 0

    6th -5 0

    7th -5 0

    8th -6 0

    9th -12 -3

    10th -12 -2

    11th -12 -1

Goal differential is also remarkably even between the middle quarters of the league.

  5. We got ESPN over NASCAR? That’s what I call freedom on the march.

I’ll be at the sounders game and I’m going to try and catch the Crew vs TFC match.

  6. I want to see this USMNT win the Gold Cup. It would be quite an accomplishment for this group. Milan vs Milan should be good as well. I’m looking forward to the Galaxy Wizards game too. LA has been playing well and I want to see if Beckham will continue to play like he did against AC Milan or put it in neutral again. Can’t wait to find out.

  7. Can somebody please tell me who has the U.S.-based rights to the Europa League this year? Somebody? Anybody? Bueller?

  8. Ives, what’s your take on the spat going on between the Front Offices of Seattle and DC over this Open Cup final bidding?

  9. Sounders/Chicago should be a good match. Although it loses some luster w/Brian McBride out. Still always interesting to watch a broadcast from Qwest Field.

  10. Not a bad weekend lineup for the summer. Stoked for the Euro seasons to begin in a few weeks.

Gold Cup Final is on Fox SC too.
