What games are you going to watch? Think Arsenal will get past Celtic? How will MLS teams fare in CONCACAF Champions League action? Share your thoughts below.
I’m an Arsenal supporter — and an Eduardo fan — but I yelled “Oh, no!” at the TV. It was a terrible call and Eduardo should have been carded. Bogus PKs are the worst thing about soccer. But players will keep doing it if they get rewarded for it. Bogus.
And what of the Celtic fans around here? Long hair don’t care?
Bottom line is, you’re right, all of English football is pish. Sooner we all realize this the better.
@oranje – Irrelevant? Which game were you watching? Was Arsenal the better side? Sure. But Celtic were into the game before that, and utterly adrift afterwards.
Whatever helps you sleep tonight. Maybe you would’ve been one of the Arsenal fans who left in the 80th as well.
There’s absolutely no defending Eduardo’s dive regardless of who you support. However, all the whining is a bit hypocritical considering a fair portion of the posters are most likely front running United or Chel$ki fans (yes, if you’re American and just started rooting for them in the past 5 years you’re a frontrunner. As well as anyone they ought to know diving (Ronaldo and Drogba were co-authors when the book on diving was written). Until FIFA and/or UEFA does something about it it is here to stay unfortunately.
As a Gunners fan, I can’t defend the dive, but that goal was irrelevant in terms of the entire tie.
Cracker by Donati to give a consolation, but it’s a really small comfort.
Shocking dive, still can’t get over it. I can’t help but feel that it’s a shame that no one will cry foul for Celtic, but if it were reversed it’d be the end of the world.
All the Arsenal fans have left already, in their moment of victory. Celtic are still playing their hearts out. It’s almost unfair that the game went this way.
Columbus and Houston are by far the best teams in MLS. DC and LA are historically the best whereas New England are also 1 of the best.
They all need a stadium of their own.
Columbus is taking CCL seriously…too bad they were put in such a tough group…their depth and experience makes them the most ideal MLS team to succeed in the tournament…I’m not writing them off though; they definitely could make a deep run in it…
Diving is alive and well. And the PL players are always saying it’s foreign players or foreign leagues doing it. Everyone dives, even when they don’t need to.
Geezus what a dive by Eduardo. Watch the American Arsenal fanboys try to defend it somehow.
maybe that’s why eduardo dives – post traumatic stress – wheneva he sees a tackle coming- or not. wuteva divers suck.
ESPN Deportes showed an interview with a Cruz Azul player (who was rockin’ the hat backwards). He spoke highly of Columbus and particularly MLS’s best goal scorer, Scheletto.
looks like Cruz Azul will come with guns ‘a’blazin’
How about a video featuring our vets like Howard, Gooch, Boca, Cherundolo, Dempsey, Donovan and a video on guys like Spector, Davies, Bradley, Altidore, Guzan.
Have Altidore, Davies, Bradley, Spector on the cover of Seventeen mag. Pimp them out. Have Donovan date some new starlet. Let us know what JoJo and Adu were once up to.
I mean come on, we need our NT to be engrained in the mind of every American so we have full support behind them.
hahahahahahaahahahaha
Thanks for telling us this. But what I want is ESPN commercials for the National Team.
Maybe a behind the scenes 30 min documentary of the guys together and playing. Or 30min recap of the long journey from qualifying to prep for the World Cup.
ESPN and FSC and USSF need to pimp the hell out of our NT. They really need to.
Lol, great promotion that.
I’m sure Ives appreciates you piggyback on his success!
I wonder if EUFA will man up and suspend the kid or something, otherwise we’ll see more and more of it.
It’s really a disgrace. In my view Celtic have been playing a very good away game. They’ve been putting in the work and have been more neat in their play than Arsenal.
Eduardo doesn’t stop!! I don’t feel bad for him anymore after what happened to him a year or two ago. He brings the karma on himself with his incessant diving
Eduardo’s such a cheat, what an embarrasment.
That was a HUGE dive. Portugal-worthy.
That penalty was complete garbage. Eduardo should have a card for a dive, but instead he gets a goal. I am sure Celtic will foul him a few times for real now.
If there is a god, he lets Celtic pull a miracle.
With Eduardo’s theatrics…it’s going to take a massive one. AH he is such a turd!
The ref will go into hiding once he sees the replay of that penalty call…that looked a dive worthy of Greg Luganis.
I am rooting for Celtic tonight, though there is very little chance they’d advance. They look decent getting out of their own half, but seem to favor the long ball of a hopeful variety.
I so wish Arsenal lose tonight but I know that’s impossible
Celtic’s jerseys are godawful.
Football’s coming HOME.
there is 7,000 reasons, Gary name 1
Matt,
Did you see the Gold Cup? They played OK in that game.
You tell em Matt! haha
Gary,
so why do the Mexicans suddenly forget how to pass when the play in Columbus or anywhere else outside Azteca?
Are Azul and Columbus taking the CCL seriously? If so, could be fun to watch.
Interested to see if the game will look like the USA mexico match, where the mexicans actually know how to pass the ball and keep posession while the MLS run themselves ragged.
chances DC wins tonight: slim to none. Bench your starters Shoen.
Can’t wait to see another Champions League game in stunning HD and dolby 5.1.
