  2. If the US wins in Honduras, than they are the bomb, and will finish first in the group. If not, then they still will probably finish at least third, as there is no way they lose to Costa Rica at home.

  3. US fans are a bunch of little girls. OMG, Blanco did this, and did that. Your soccer culture is a joke. It is a good thing your team is better than you lot of soft little girls.

  4. I can’t believe that for a few seconds, as Blanco was stretchered off motionless, the Fire fan in me was really worried! the announcers were going on about how the doctor has been summoned to make sure he is ok and boom — he is up and alert and running. Maradona may be God, and Landon is Baby Jesus, but Blanco is Lazarus.

Now I think that all we need is a draw at home versus Costa Rica. Even if we lose the next game and Costa Rica wins, they still need no less than a win at RFK to pass us.

  5. How does Blanco drop like that so many times and get the call every GD time. Has the ref never heard of him? Never seen him play. I wanted to punch my tv.

In other news, the US T&T game was completely uninspiring and BORING.

  6. I was playing with that Simulator, but the one for CONMEBOL, not CONCACAF. There’s a scenario where Argentina could beat Peru, tie Uruguay away, and actually finish 6th and miss out on a playoff entirely. If Argentina beats Peru but loses to Uruguay, they can even finish as low as 8th.

I just thought that was interesting. Thanks for that link, BTW.

  7. Why do these Mexican/Latin American teams always waste time and fake injuries? Is it part of their culture? Are they raised to play this way?

It’s called playing smart. Deal with it.

  8. Well, that certainly throws a change-up into qualifying.

US gets in with a win in either of their last two games. Mexico joins them. Honduras would appear to have the edge unless Costa Rica can get their act together, but they look to be the only team in CONCACAF playing worse than the US right now. But if the US gets a big win in San Pedro Sula, Costa Rica may get a break in its race with Honduras if Bradley decides to play a 2nd squad.

Simply remarkable that our tie at El Salvador is the best result of the bunch. Heck, El Salvador is unbeaten at home. Honduras better watch out against them on the final match-day.

  9. Ha the whinny little b…. , was this the first time yall seen Blanco play? This is who he is, everyone knows that he plays like this. It should be no surprise to see him like a little girl. Come on guys quit whining about Blanco.

  10. Lol, how did someone on Honduras not go up to Blanco after the game and punch him in the face. The guy takes a half way across the field full out sprint at a Honduran player for a header, lunges wildly at him, falls, stays on the ground for 5 minutes, is strechered off and comes back in like 2 seconds, and then proceeds to fall over twice more drawing cards in the middle of a general confusion by any Mexican to decide on who whould put the ball back into play. I’m so glad our boys have some professional dignity, sheesh.

  11. Even if we tie at home against CR, we don’t deserve to go to the WC. We need to beat CR with authority if not we might as well stay home and save our selves from another embarrassment.

  12. If the USA does not beat Honduras to qualify, the USA only needs a draw against Costa Rica to qualify to the World Cup

If Costa Rica loses to T&T, USA is also in.

USA/Honduras and CR/T&T both end in draws, the USA is in

  14. This night couldn’t have turned out much better for the US……

…..especially since they played like a bunch of lazy sacks of sh*t and their coach’s in game understanding and ability to choose the right time and players to substitute couldn’t be worse.

  15. the US is not playing that poorly, certainly not in great form, but we are winning, even in Mexico, we played like crap and should’ve had a point, landon won’t let this team not make the cup, if we can’t beat Costa Rica at home we don’t deserve to go to the cup

  16. Ya know, Mexican water has always just given me the shits. I never knew that if you just sprayed it on your face it could totally heal you from life-threatening injuries. Boy…Blanco sure showed me the way tonight!

  17. Andrew, I can’t stand it either. Although, I believe this means Guevara won’t be playing against the US in October.

Again I hate Blanco, and seeing McBride and him play together for the Chicago Fire makes me want to throw up. There’s just something really wrong with it.

  18. Costa RIca isn’t out yet… they play home vs T&T which they should win. The US is playing horrible right now and is away at Honduras

If the US wins they are in if not…well the 3 and 4 spot comes down the the US vs Costa Rica Game.

….unless that all happens and Honduras loses in EL Salvador then it gets down to Goals

  19. well, i was totally wrong about my scoreline prediction after that penalty because I completely forgot about the latin american tendency to muck the game up when it’s in their favor. time wasting and fake injuries and antics get sickening to watch.

I used to wonder this when we would play predominately Hispanic teams.

As I type this, Guevara wins the ball from Blanco, who promptly falls over like the huge vag he is and draws the yellow for Guevara. Can’t stand this, I really can’t.

  21. froboy, you have to expect CR will beat TnT. So unless we beat Honduras away then we are only up 1 or 2 points on CR. That still makes the finale a do or die game for both teams. Automatic qualification is most likely coming down to that game.
