Charlie Davies continues to show signs of improvement and make significant progress this week as he took his first steps since the fatal car accident that left him with multiple broken bones.

Davies underwent surgery this week on his fractured elbow as well as to stabilize facial fractures. He has already begun the rehabilitation process and has been encouraged by the more than 10,000 emails of support sent to him by fans from around the world.

While he has taken his first steps, Davies still has several months of recovery to go, so it is far too early to start thinking about a hard time-table for his potential return to the soccer field. That said, the news of him taking his first steps will provide encouragement to all his American and French fans.
