Since A) the match is on ESPN2, and B) Clint Dempsey is starting, we're giving you a delayed Your Running Commentary post for today's Fulham-Hull City match (which is at halftime).
Dempsey is in the starting lineup for Fulham, but Eddie Johnson is not in uniform. Jozy Altidore is on the bench for Hull City.
If you are watching today's match, please feel free to share your thoughts, opinions and some play-by-play in the comments section below.
Enjoy the (rest of the) action.
wow. we were watching a different game.. when the ball is not near him he is totally stone foot
i thought jozy did alright considering the crappy service he got. had to battle with hangeland who is pretty solid himself so not too bad a day. i expect him to over take venegoor before december. dempsey did look good tho i thought he was outshone a little bit by duff who brought a lot more energy. they switched sides in the first half and you could immediately notice a difference in where the flow of the ball went
I just never saw him walking, he was always hopping back n forth like a boxer. Pretty sure if Dempsey walked around like he did for the USMNT he would get scolded by his teammates and coach.
yes 2-0
Is it over?
Is it possible for Dempsey to play in a Fulham jersey during USMNT games? Or maybe hire the Fulham coach just to be on the sidelines. This guy looks so different for Fulham. Not once did I see him half ass anything today.
Brian, Dempsey does not always hustle. I could not agree more.
A.S.:
The mentioned him about a dozen times.
@gj
Yeah, I thought it was pretty cool how whenever the ball went over the boards, a fan was the one throwing it back. Talk about being right on top of the action. Craven Cottage seems like a great venue to see a match.
I followed the ESPN commentary. Jozy’s name not even mentioned after coming on. Not good.
poor Jozy. Hull City sucks. not a single shot on frame the entire game. they’re not Derby County bad yet, but they are getting there.
Jozy could’ve taken a nap in the penalty box and not missed anything.
I wish more stadiums looked like Fulhams stadium.
Personally i think Deuce looked pretty good today. Really helped make the link from defense to offense. Had two pretty good chances and came pretty close twice. The only thing i have always had against Dempsey is that he rarely hustles for a loose ball and his defense leaves a lot to desire…
Anyways, I kinda feel bad for Altidore coming to a terrible team in Hull. They are not only awful, but play at the pace of a snail. Honestly, I think even the top MLS teams are better than Hull, not that that is saying much, but still..
Same reason football coaches here wear theirs. So he can communicate with people upstairs seeing the game from a different angle.
@gj
They’ve been without bullard all season. He may look goofy but he can play. Once he’s back in the swing of things, they’ll play better. Not light years better, but better

Yeah definitely. Most of the play ran through him at Fulham. Now that he’s healthy hopefully he can provide Hull’s forwards with the service that’s been lacking.
Jozy almost muscled on in… so close…
Also, does anyone know why Phil Brown wears that head set for?
This is what I’m most afraid of with Jozy playing for Hull. They’re so poor I’m just not sure he’ll see much of the ball ever, even when he manages to get on the field.
Well, speak of the devil
Note that Hull do not have a shot on goal today…
I haven’t noticed Altidore since he came on. Fulham is too good for him to get the ball.
I know Hull sucks but I wish Jozy would like he did against Costa Rica

demps wants a goal bad
Before my feed died, no. Hull hard hardly tried to get the ball to him. Maybe now that Vennegoor is off…
jozy hasnt seen really any of the ball at all. everytime hull gets on fulham’s side they lose it to a bad pass
Hulls is gonna suck this year for sure. They have no mid field play. And if you dont hvae a decent mid field, your not gonna score too many goals.
Yeah…anyone got a link to stream…I’m at work as well.
Streff,
I sure hope so. Regardless, as poor as Hull look today, I’m surprised he hasn’t broken in more quickly, time or no.
For the record, it seems Leeds and Norwich are more popular in Belfast than Fulham or Hull. So I’m watching on my computer. And of course my feed died.
Jozy made any impact yet? Can’t really watch at the office unfortunately..
@Chris
Though he has been on loan at Hull for 2 months now, he has hardly actually been there.
Phil Brown alluded to that the other day. He said that Jozy has been there for maybe half the time — which is always going to make it tough for a newcomer to break into the team.
Now that qualifiers are over, look for Jozy to get more time in training with Hull, and see time on the pitch as a result of that.
I say that, of course, as he comes on.
Man… if Jozy can’t get on the field for Hull, it really doesn’t say much for what he’s showing in training. Hull is absolutely dreadful. This is the first time I’ve seen them play this year; are they always this bad? Fulham’s play is about par for the course this year. I’m shocked Zamora scored.
Finally!
I hope Altidore gets a goal!!!!!
In comes Jozy.
Finally!!! ls go jozy!
Jozy’s on!
OOOH. Just wide from Deuce. You can tell he just came off an injury. Good try though, on a different day he definitely finishes that.
nice thought from Clint there, at least…
Demps got stone feet today looks like he’s got a case of the mondays
COME ON FULHAM, COME ON FULHAM!!!
exciting to see fulham on ESPN….great channel. Would love to see Jozy play against them.
I think Jozy is still the #2 striker at Hull, they just switched to a 4-5-1
I want some Jozy!
This game is pretty boring. Jozy better enter this game and give me a reason to watch.
Another American stagnating. Altidore looked poise to be a starter until Hull bought like 8 strikers after him. Sad face, indeed.
“Hello EJ? This is MLS. Miss me?”
Great goal by Zamora set up by Duff’s shot. Is Hull going to make any attempt to play offense in this one?
Im hoping jozy will get at least a half hour. They need goals so I think its a good chance we could see him at some point
no mention of Jozy coming in to help in the 2nd half from the UK Brain Trust
