  1. i thought jozy did alright considering the crappy service he got. had to battle with hangeland who is pretty solid himself so not too bad a day. i expect him to over take venegoor before december. dempsey did look good tho i thought he was outshone a little bit by duff who brought a lot more energy. they switched sides in the first half and you could immediately notice a difference in where the flow of the ball went

  2. I just never saw him walking, he was always hopping back n forth like a boxer. Pretty sure if Dempsey walked around like he did for the USMNT he would get scolded by his teammates and coach.

  3. Is it possible for Dempsey to play in a Fulham jersey during USMNT games? Or maybe hire the Fulham coach just to be on the sidelines. This guy looks so different for Fulham. Not once did I see him half ass anything today.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty cool how whenever the ball went over the boards, a fan was the one throwing it back. Talk about being right on top of the action. Craven Cottage seems like a great venue to see a match.

  5. poor Jozy. Hull City sucks. not a single shot on frame the entire game. they’re not Derby County bad yet, but they are getting there.

  6. Personally i think Deuce looked pretty good today. Really helped make the link from defense to offense. Had two pretty good chances and came pretty close twice. The only thing i have always had against Dempsey is that he rarely hustles for a loose ball and his defense leaves a lot to desire…

Anyways, I kinda feel bad for Altidore coming to a terrible team in Hull. They are not only awful, but play at the pace of a snail. Honestly, I think even the top MLS teams are better than Hull, not that that is saying much, but still..

  7. Same reason football coaches here wear theirs. So he can communicate with people upstairs seeing the game from a different angle.

They’ve been without bullard all season. He may look goofy but he can play. Once he’s back in the swing of things, they’ll play better. Not light years better, but better

Yeah definitely. Most of the play ran through him at Fulham. Now that he’s healthy hopefully he can provide Hull’s forwards with the service that’s been lacking.

  9. This is what I’m most afraid of with Jozy playing for Hull. They’re so poor I’m just not sure he’ll see much of the ball ever, even when he manages to get on the field.

  11. Hulls is gonna suck this year for sure. They have no mid field play. And if you dont hvae a decent mid field, your not gonna score too many goals.

  12. Streff,

I sure hope so. Regardless, as poor as Hull look today, I’m surprised he hasn’t broken in more quickly, time or no.

For the record, it seems Leeds and Norwich are more popular in Belfast than Fulham or Hull. So I’m watching on my computer. And of course my feed died.

Though he has been on loan at Hull for 2 months now, he has hardly actually been there.

Phil Brown alluded to that the other day. He said that Jozy has been there for maybe half the time — which is always going to make it tough for a newcomer to break into the team.

Now that qualifiers are over, look for Jozy to get more time in training with Hull, and see time on the pitch as a result of that.

  14. Man… if Jozy can’t get on the field for Hull, it really doesn’t say much for what he’s showing in training. Hull is absolutely dreadful. This is the first time I’ve seen them play this year; are they always this bad? Fulham’s play is about par for the course this year. I’m shocked Zamora scored.

  15. OOOH. Just wide from Deuce. You can tell he just came off an injury. Good try though, on a different day he definitely finishes that.

  16. Another American stagnating. Altidore looked poise to be a starter until Hull bought like 8 strikers after him. Sad face, indeed.
