We are four days away from the USA-Honduras World Cup qualifier and while the U.S. national team is in first place in CONCACAF World Cup qualifying, it won't go in as the favorite in San Pedro Sula.
That is because the Americans are facing a strong Honduras team that just might be the best team in the nation's history. With four starters currently starting in Europe's top four leagues, and several other players who have enjoyed strong qualifying campaigns, Honduras is definitely not going to make things easy for the United States. Not with a World Cup berth within reach with a victory.
Here is my ESPN.com story on the Honduran team, with comments from U.S. coach Bob Bradley and former U.S. national team star Peter Vermes on the strength of the current Honduran side. In short, this is a loaded Honduran team, and if you think Saturday's match will be anything but extremely difficult for the United States then you haven't been paying attention.
What do you think? Is this the strongest Honduran team ever? Think the United States can get a win or tie at San Pedro Sula, where Mexico has lost twice in the past year?

After seeing David Suazo coming back fron his knee injury, I totally agree with the fact that the National Team for Honduras has gotten incredible. I was dissapointed in the Mexico v. Honduras game because neither team was playing up to their full potential. If Honduras plays similair to how they did against Mexico, then we are going to have a miserable night. Tonight i hope scores to be 2-1 or at least 1-0 with either Carlo Costly, Carlos Pavon Plumer, or David Suazo making a goal. The people Honduras have to cover are Landon Donovan, Brian Ching, and Altidore. Hopefully, we come out victorious, off to the world cup, and its going to be an amazing game.
Ya… I totally agree with you. I would like to watch them as the best team ever. The Honduran team has all kind of best players.
