  1. Lets hope they hold on and Gladbach can get to safety this year. I have this fantasy scenario where Bradley eventually goes to Shalke and starts alongside Jermaine Jones. 3 points versus the league leaders would be a huge windfall of points.

  2. Can we all take a second to honor Mr. Brad Friedel, Cleveland native and UCLA Bruin, who is starting his 200th consecutive — 200th! — Premier League game today?

  3. Well that was crap. The advantage was created by the fact that everyone stopped playing. You shouldn’t stop playing, and King and Gomes both should have blocked the cross so Spurs can’t complain too much… but it was still a crap non-call.

  4. It was a fantastic goal and he deserves all the credit for that killer instinct, but I think it’s being overblown just a tad. He beat two guys, not ten. He also beat Gomes though, which I suppose is ultimately all that matters.

  5. Eduardo stuffed 1 v. 1 by Tottenham keeper… made a couple of nice kick saves this half.

BTW – Thomas Vermaelen the best transfer buy (i.e., value for the $$$) for the 1H season? (And no – not an Arsenal fan)

  6. Tottenham played that kickoff so, so badly. You almost wish they hadn’t because Fabregas’ play was so awesome it should be up for golazo of the year.

  7. When I wrote that, Arsenal was dominating. shortly thereafter the Spurs took control of the midfield and they looked stronger. Very close until the end of the half when Arsenal blew it open. Look forward to the 2nd half.

  8. As a Spurs fan, I’m gutted. Spurs were hanging back and playing a bit too much long ball to Crouch, but I was pretty pleased with how they looked. For the most part, Spurs were breaking up everything Arsenal was throwing out them. Then a quick chance off a throw (where Gomes should have done better) and then Fabregas running past Palacios and King (how often does that happen?) and after all that good work, all of a sudden Spurs look out of it.

  9. Credit Arsenal’s two best players for two impressive individual efforts, but this match turned when Keane could not trap a simple ball that should have resulted in a goal.

  10. From the Guardian: “Clint Dempsey has had more off-target efforts on goal (22) than any other player in the division.”
