Kenny Cooper has been struggling for playing time with TSV 1860 Munich lately, and now it appears he will have to wait even longer to get on the field.

Cooper injured his right knee in training on Monday, and head coach Ewald Lienen is worried the injury could be to Cooper's ACL. While further tests will be performed to determine the extent of the injury, Cooper faces the possibility of missing a substantial amount of time for club and country. (Cooper suffered a slight tear of the ligament and patellar tendon, but is expected to miss only three weeks, according to a report out of Germany.)

Cooper's injury is just the latest to hit the U.S. national team, which is already without forward Charlie Davies, defender Oguchi Onyewu and midfielders Maurice Edu and Jermaine Jones.

Concerned about Cooper's injury? Think he should have been called up to the national team? Worried by the dearth of forwards the U.S. team has available?

  1. i agree with JJ. At Bejing, McBride did not pair up with anyone as he played as a lone striker. There was practically no service from his teammates which rendered his talents useless

  2. Cooper is rubbish anyway… so is Ching for that matter… and Casey now that I think about it… oh yeah and EJ too… didn’t Bornstein used to be a forward? Hey it couldn’t hurt.
