  1. Personally, I’m disappointed. It’s not that bad but there are other better Adidas designs out there they could have gone with. I was hoping for more something in the vein of the new Argentina jerseys (http://footballfashion.wordpress.com/2009/11/05/argentina-adidas-world-cup-2010-kit-camiseta-officially-launched/) or even the new Paraguay jerseys (http://footballfashion.wordpress.com/2009/11/01/paraguay-adidas-world-cup-2010-home-kit-camiseta/). Both would have looked good with the blue and gold.

  2. Hated it at first. And now maybe i’m at the dislike stage.Until i see a human being wearing one can’t really judge. And all jerseys look better when you have more than 1 person wearing the thing.I think the gold stripe goes up higher on the throat/neck than the pic implies.Would’ve looked better if the thin light blue was on the sides of the gold stripe. And i prefer the badge to be over the heart. Is MLS going the NFL route with the center logo?Oh well, hope the away looks better before i shell out $110 that i can’t afford.Well it looks better than a Redstools jersey.GO UNION!Where?i don’t know but let’s get there already.

  3. Wow… that’s not good… let’s hope they come up with an alternate design fast. This one just sucks.

For what it’s worth, I didn’t much care for the name either. Gotta be able to do better…

  4. Happy to see the league moving towards classic looking regalia and names in place of turquoise-y, rainbow-y, diamondbacks, wizards, devil rays type things. Like the middle stripe

And yeah, wouldn’t mind seeing some light blue

  5. great colours, logo placement, layout. Love it. Can’t figure why everyone is complaining, this is better than all of the other MLS kits ‘cept TFC.

  6. The graphic of the jersey looks good. Seriously if they end the season with a winning record then those jersey’s will look a heck of a lot better. I mean really its not what you’re wearing while you play, its how you play.

I mean if you go undefeated in MLS while wearing sequin hot-pants and ruffled jerseys with poofy sleeves the outfits may trump the conversation but if PU goes undefeated next year wearing blue and poo no ones gonna care what they had on at the time.

That being said the photo looks more like the Saints colors while the graphic looks more true to life.

  7. Eww, I hope the jersey looks nothing like that photo and more like the graphic, though the design could be better. I was hoping the center stripe would be a bit brighter yellow (not garishly so but less tan) and go up to the collar. The patch is probably better in the middle since it’s round. Dark blue comes out better on TV, especially HDTV, than tarheel blue but I was hoping for a better incorporation of the tarheel blue of the Philly flag than a thin random line that cuts off the pattern. I get the sense that the Union organization has only begrudgingly wanted to have anything to do with that color. However, almost every major team in the world does some minor tweaks to their kit year to year and I’m sure there will be some period of evolution over the next few years here too. Not a bad start overall, though.

  8. Looks crisp. Nice Navy and Gold, just like Notre Dame. There aren’t too many unneeded accents (like the blue on Houston’s kit). The Sky blue piping is enough, but not too much. Their kits will be very easy on the eyes.

  9. No…

Unless I have suddenly developed pretty bad colorblindness, I do not know what you are referring to when you mention a brown stripe.

All I see is a dark blue jersey with a gold stripe in the center.

  10. The Jersey in the graphic looks Blue. I think the one in the Picture is the away jersey which looks kind of bad..and than the one below the picture in the graphic appears more blue(which looks much better) will be the home Jersey.

  11. I think it’s pretty bangin. Just wish Adidas didn’t do the shoulder stripes on EVERY f’ing jersey in the world. Still like it

  12. I like it. Classic look, but still unique to MLS. Similar color scheme to the St Louis Rams or Pitt Panthers which both have good looks.

When you see this it on TV you will know its the Union. I love the dark blue but would like to see a little more of the light blue and maybe the stripe go all the way to the neck in future versions.

I am hoping this will go with dark shorts and dark socks. That would be sharp. All in all, very nice!

  13. The yellow stripe down the middle is a defense for when their fans spill cheese steak on the front of it. Makes total sense.

  14. so, are those making the poop brown comment, just not understanding that those colors under natural light will look like the the graphic on the website.

because the only way your poop should look that color is if you just got a colonic and then ate creamed spinach and tofu for a month

  15. Do teams now just flip a coin to see if their jerseys will be blue or red?

Just glancing at the logos at mlsnet.com 12 of 16 teams use blue in their logo and 11 use some shade of blue in their jerseys. And about half the teams use red. I have to give the NFL props for having some unique color combos. I wish MLS teams were bold enought to do the same.

  16. i love it. original, clean, and reflection of the city and tradition. i take the colors represent the union (fighting in the revolution and civil wars), while the layout reflects the flag of philly, which is a nice touch. well done i say philadelphia union, this angelino is gonna have to get one of those jerseys…
