England-based Americans Jay DeMerit, Jonathan Spector and Mike Grella will see their FA Cup Third-Round match-ups pit them against England's best clubs.

Grella's Leeds United will face Manchester United, DeMerit's Watford will play Chelsea and Spector's West Ham will meet London rival Arsenal in key FA Cup Third Round tilts, set to be played just after the New Year.

Here are all of the Third Round match-ups involving Americans revealed by Wednesday's draw:

Jemal Johnson and MK Dons vs. Burnley

Jay DeMerit and Watford vs. Chelsea

Jonathan Spector and West Ham vs. Arsenal

Brad Friedel, Brad Guzan and Aston Villa vs. Blackburn

Jozy Altidore and Hull City vs. Wigan Athletic

Tim Howard and Everton vs. Carlisle United

Frank Simek and Sheffield Wednesday vs. Crystal Palace

Marcus Hahnemann and Wolves vs. Tranmere Rovers

Clint Dempsey, Eddie Johnson and Fulham vs. Swindon Town

Zak Whitbread and Millwall vs. Derby County

Mike Grella and Leeds vs. Manchester United

These matches will be played on the weekend of Jan. 2.

What do you think of these match-ups? Hoping Grella gets a chance to start vs. Manchester United? Looking forward to seeing DeMerit and Spector take on some of Europe's best attackers? Think Eddie Johnson will still be with Fulham by Jan. 2?

  1. I find it intersting that in the British press this morning there are articles that say Fulham is interested in getting Beasley in the January transfer window. Now why Fulham would want to get rid of EJ and take Beasley (when they have both Duff and Dempsey playing left wing) is a bit baffling.

  2. As a Fulham and USA fan, I hope Eddie Johnson gets loaned to a different club in January. He is doing well with the reserves but getting little first team action. He should go back to Cardiff.

  3. Haha, nahh, “CIGE” means, like, he’s moving forward, “Cige STU”, is “STU keeps going” and “Gringo” is just what they call any1 that has light skin, its not just for white ppl

  4. Yeah I remember one game where the guy who does the Univision broadcast kept calling him inspector and Simek “el detective” (obviously the detective). Sometimes I hate being able to understand the terribly biased Mexican commentators but that was one time it was kinda nice.

  5. Like Robbie “Robinho” Rogers? and how the Galavision/Telefutura commentator always says” CIGE(sp?) STU” whenever Holden goes on the dribble? Or how when Jozy scored against Spain he called him “Jozirico”. Or how they call Torres, “Gringo” Torres.

  6. If he’s there, that would be the perfect time to roll him out to the Evertonians. I just hope he ends up somewhere that’ll play him.

  8. Hmmm perhaps Bruce might want a striker? My Galaxy could sure use one, especially if the Donovan to Everton deal becomes permanent.

  9. that Leeds v United match is going to be mayhem at OT. years of history and bad blood have not been forgotten during Leeds exile to the nether regions of football. We better watch out for Grella the Assassin! 😉

  10. Ives, what’s the deal with Whitbread? I know he’s “injured” but wasn’t the underlying problem that he wanted to leave?

(SBI-I think it’s fair to say he will be leaving this winter. Haven’t seen any reports on where he might go though. Apparently a loan to Huddersfield Town fell through last month. He looks set to come back this weekend.)

  11. Not gonna “Clint Dempsey and Eddie Johnson and Fulham” for long

(SBI-They need to find a a buyer first. Rangers wanted to get rid of Beasley last summer too and we saw how that went.)
