  1. I have no problem with a quick restart in this situation but once the referee inserts himself into the situation by asking for the ball from Fabianski, he has a responsibility to ensure a fair restart. Had the referee not handled the ball, there would be no issue with this “heads up” play by Porto.

  2. What is the deal with Wenger trying to blame the ref for the second goal?

His comment about the ref not giving time to build a wall was BS and childish.

    Doesn’t he know the rules?

Unless the team taking the free kick requests 10 yards of space from opponents it can be taken the second the ball is placed There is no “time” allotted for defense to form a wall. The fouling team footdrag themselves to ten yards away under harrasment by the ref to give ten yards of space. Which is overdone and not in the spirit of the law anyway. Horray for a fast free kick.

And Sol wan’t blocked, he was slow to react while the keeper was completely out of it mentally looking at the bench trying to cover his error with a I don’t understand look. Don’t understand what. Sol knew the keep picked up his backpass through his for god’s sake gesture.

I’ve always admired Arse, but don’t bame the ref for your teams mistakes coach. It ill suits you

  3. Stupid question: Is FSC now in HD on Time Warner Cable? Just flipped on the Bayern Munich – Fiorentina match and the picture is about 1000x better than the typical FSC feed.

The channel is the same old non-HD channel number, the picture is very good.

  4. Looking at a few replays of that Arsenal back pass it appears that Campbell doesn’t really touch the ball. He attempts but stops short.

  5. Edu has passed really well and even verbally commanded the midfield. He hasn’t had a lot to do going either way though, as Rangers are dominating the offense, and defensively not much has come up. A boring night to be a defensive midfielder.

  6. That just found it’s way to the top of every soccer blooper list and highlight reel…ever. Silliest Champions’ League goal in history.

  8. I know fabianski is the #2 and that almunia is injured right now…but regardless i think both keepers have been shaky inbetween the posts for the gunners all season. Wenger would be best served to find a permanent solution for the next 5+ yrs
