A look back at Messi’s latest masterpiece

In the wake of the recently signed MLS labor deal, and in the midst of our series of MLS team previews, we actually missed out on bringing you Lionel Messi's latest masterpiece.

  1. No to be honest. I only saw the highlights.

I do think that it would be best to work on getting Ibra’s confidence back. Maybe that’s what the pk was all about.

  2. but it was Marquez’s foul. i honestly think they played the ball as it was still rolling, but it was the foul by marquez that allowed them to send the long ball over puyol.

  3. I am most impressed with Messi’s character. After scoring a hat-trick, he then makes an impressive run in the box and gets dragged down. (As ko’d said “What else do you want us to do??? The only way we can stop him is to FOUL HIM.”) Instead of scoring a fourth, he lets Ibra take the PK. Why does this matter? Ibra has been in a rut and scoring a goal can help you get out of that sometimes even if it is “just” a PK. Barca need Ibra to start contributing to take some pressure off of Messi.
