Today's TV selection will have Liverpool fans anxious to see if their Reds can pull within a point of Tottenham for fourth place in the Premier League with a win vs. lowly Portsmouth (3:55pm, ESPN2).

Portsmouth is heading toward inevitable relegation, but just might be able to catch a Liverpool side that could be looking ahead to Thursday's crucial Europa League clash with Lille.

Will you be watching? Think Liverpool can regain fourth place, or is their season in danger of falling apart this week? Are you rooting for Portsmouth to put together a good run amid all the financial troubles the club is facing?

  1. “barely touched”? Take off your Red tinted glasses, fan boy. And by your standards, a violent elbow to the back of someone’s head is okay if it’s in retaliation and deserves no punishment? Wow. Just wow. Good luck with all that. Enjoy not playing in Europe next year and the ultimate defection of Torres and everyone else.

  2. Oh please. Gerrard, while throwing a forearm, barely touched Brown. Also, if you watch it again, you’ll see Brown throw his arm back at Gerrard’s head first. Also, Brown is quite possibly the dirtiest player in the league, and i for one, don’t mind someone taking a shot at him.

  3. Whoa, Dirty Gerrard just threw an elbow into the back of a Portsmouth player’s head and not only does the ref not do anything about it, one of the announcers defends Gerrard!? Good lord, talk about a homer announcer. The other announcer sounded in disbelief at what Gerrard did after seeing the replays. Gerrard should get a suspension after they see that after the game (but we all know he won’t).

  4. No way Liverpool take this lightly – They’d choose 4th over Europa any day. There’s just too much money and pride to lose with coming out of 4th. Saying that I hope they get smashed by Pompey and Pompey stay up to give a finger (or two!) to Administration’s crap rules about deduction!!!!!
