Tim Howard 1 (ISIphotos.com)

Tim Howard, Landon Donovan and Everton faces Jozy Altidore's Hull City in the day's most anticipated match for American fans.

The three Americans will reunite just four days after being in the United States' lineup for Wednesday's 2-1 exhibition loss to the Netherlands and all three should play roles in today's tilt.

There are other quality matches on offer today, including Inter Milan-Genoa and Independiente-River Plate. American striker Herculez Gomez will look to keep his torrid scoring pace going when Puebla faces UNAM Pumas today.

  1. Donovan with an impressive substitute session today with a goal and assist. I think hes out of Everton’s price range now though.

  2. there’s no way gomez is going. If Davies isn’t ready then Bradley’s not gonna take a forward just because he’s a forward. I’m sure he’ll have no problem putting dempsey or donovan up front. We have enough mids to cover.

  3. Osman comes off with an injury and they bring in…Rodwell? Not encouraging if we’re looking to see Donovan in this match

  4. “Please some EPL team hire BB next year so our guys can start.”

Umm yea we would get a team of Klejstan, Bornstein, Casey, and Hejduk…

  5. So what is the reward for a scoring a goal as a Hull striker? The bench. Hasn’t Jozy been on the bench since he scored his goal? Why not start Altidore who just practiced against Howard and probably scored against him in practice. I guess it is better to start a striker who plays for a national team that is NOT going to the WC.

And Moyes is pissed that LD is moving to Chelsea. LD’s reward for being a rising EPL star? The bench.

Please some EPL team hire BB next year so our guys can start.

  6. I can understand Donovan on the bench but Jozy on the bench is just ridiculous.

JOH and Jozy teamed up really well a couple weeks ago and now with Bullard back that can only make things better. But Phil Brown never ceases to amaze me. I always hear interviews from this guy talking about the most difficult thing as a manager is to find the right combination of players….ummm hey Phil its March and I haven’t seen one consistent lineup from you so whats that say about your skills as a manager?

  7. was gonna race to the red lion for this one….maybe i’ll make it for the second half. no LD?? anyone know anything about his health? maybe still battling the flu, so no start?

  8. God, Zaki again……I cannot stand him for all the obvious reasons (won’t play for a team because of Algerians, unprofessional, etc.) He would be a guy I would love to heckle at a game and get under his skin….Good job Phil Brown…Guess you didn’t see how Jozy played well against the No.3 Defense in the world…

  9. I can’t…use him while you’ve got him. They’ll have plenty of time to get used to him not being there. (Not to mention, they had all of August – December to see how they play without him.)

That said, I guess he’s still recovering from being sick and didn’t show enough in practice maybe.

  10. CHELSEA will acquire Landon Donovan and MOYES will soon learn EVERTON wouldn’t be near there current standings without him.

BROWN starts the obviously unfit ZAKI!?

  12. Both Americans on the bench. What a send off for Landon. That seems disrespectful to have him as a sub on his last game.

I don’t know if Phil Brown has paid attention to how horrid his team plays when Jozy is not in the lineup to disrupt the defense. I’m pissed that I was planning on skipping church for this game

  13. Well them starting on the bench really puts a damper on things. I can understand Moyes preparing the team for post Landon, but nothing Phil Brown does ever makes much sense.

  15. Weird. Saw a Confederate Flag in the stand of the Bologna-Napoli game. Hope that is meant as a symbol of southern living, rather than a symbol of racism. Sadly, probably the latter…

  16. My head just might explode today if Jozy scores on Timmy.

But as a Liverpool fan, I have to root for Hull. Plus my favorite color is orange.

    NY/USMNT pride today!

  17. CHAAARRRLIE DAAAVVIIEESS!!! That’s right everyone yell it. He IS coming back no ands, ifs, or buts. We need to stay behind him. Why? Just like my friend said, “Where has this guy been. I have NEVER seen a forward like that for the US.” during the Confed Cup.

Hope Jozy gets the start today – would be great to him, Landon and Tim on the pitch at the same time… and that he – Jozy – bags another goal.

  19. Davies should be back to training in a week or two. I really believe he will be ready to play in the WC. IF not, players like Dempsey and Donovan are much better options.

  20. If Davies is not ready to go by World Cup time what is the chance of Bradley taking an in-form stiker that is outside of the current national team pool like Gomez?
