Manchester United and Liverpool are used to clashing with championship aspirations on the line for both squad, but while that won't be the case when they meet on Sunday, the match is no less important.

Liverpool will head to Old Trafford trying to boost its chance of an all-important fourth-place finish in the English Premier League, but will need to do so against a Manchester United side locked in a title race battle with Chelsea.

Manchester United-Liverpool is the weekend's main event, but not the only top match on the schedule. Boca Juniors faces arch-rival River Plate in one of the world's best rivalries, while PSV Eindhoven takes on FC Twente in a battle of Dutch powers.

Here is a rundown of the weekend's full schedule of matches on TV:

  1. Ditto… Setante is gone, but no Fox Soccer Plus to replace it… This will not do! Must start calling and bitching to appropriate persons on Monday morning.

  2. When I called someone at AT&T who is actually involved with U-verse programming, they told me they are still negotiating with Fox about getting the channel.

This, to me, sounds like Fox is not negotiating in good faith and is trying to get much more than what the providers are willing to pay.

Does any cable system carry this channel yet?

  3. None in Maine/New Hampshire either. Was talking to my Time Warner employee friend and he said, “give it a year for them to agree to a deal…” Ugh.

  4. They ain’t doing anything but driving me to my favorite torrent site to download it after. Especially since i can’t get FSC+ or FSC in HD.

if these times are eastern hell that just means i sleep in. Should be uploaded by the time i’m awake. So Fox’s loss. Not like i can change it anyways again channel’s not available and at the moment i can’t afford it if it was.

  5. I notice Chivas-Monterrey is also on Telemundo, which is probably available to more folks than mun2. Could be an interesting game. There are also a couple more games on Telemundo that don’t look all that interesting unless you follow one of the 4 teams involved.

  6. Well my provider isn’t going to pick it up in 2 days no matter how many people ask for it.

It’s a crappy way to go about it, punishing people midseason because their provider is no good.

The route that should be taken is to give the people who have helped make the channel what it is the important games THIS season. Place a strong FS+ advertising campaign over the summer w/ MLS games and reruns and a World Cup.

It’s a slap in the face, there’s nothing I can do about it, I’ll be happy to call a provider and let them know I’d like this channel, but they can’t flip stations on a dime either, typically a rescheduling in channels is going to happen at the start of every Q, so why not wait till Q3, when more people have the channel, to do this stupid scheduling.

  7. Ives,

    Aren’t NYRB at 6 p.m. (not 6:30)?

(SBI-Game kicks off at 6:30pm. There’s some pre-game ceremonies before that.)

  8. They’re not “punishing” per se, they’re hoping you call your local cable provider and demand FSC+. You see, it’s not about demand for soccer, it’s about demand for Fox’s new channel.

  9. Man Utd v Liverpool is on Fox Soccer Plus because its an early kick off on Sunday. Yes, they could switch the Italian League game but this time slot has never traditionally been on FSC. I wish they would switch it so I do not have to get up an watch the game, but the Chelsea, Man Utd game should be on FSC because it will be the late kick off on Sunday.

  10. Thank God someone else noticed that the top drawer games are now being shown on Fox soccer Plus. It is absolutely ridiculous, I am not a Manchester United fan and I am not a Liverpool fan, but I would love to see Manchester United fall to a hapless Liverpool. Just when you thought FSC was in our corner, they give it to us real good!!! Ives, please I thought you were with us. Now that you are on their payroll, you must have some pull at Fox Soccer Channel. This is not cool. you must lobby for us, I guess Chelsea v Manchester United is out too! I won’t be seeing any top 4 Footy matches anymore. Time Warner still isn’t carrying FS+ and I would be surprised to see it all; let alone, anytime soon.

  11. They don’t need to create ‘demand’ for another football specific channel, if you like the first one, you’ll like this one, it’s football all around.

My point is that their second channel is not carried by a lot of cable providers, so why punish those who can only access, in all their power, your flagship channel.

  12. And I’m most looking forward to the A-League final. I’ve come to be quite impressed with the A-league, J-League and K-League whenever I get the chance to see their brands of football. I put all three on par with MLS.

  13. I’m pretty positive that the Liverpool Manchester match being on FS+ must be a typo.

I’m sure the smart people at FSC looked at viewership and compared the two, said to themselves, “more people will want to watch Liverpool United, so we will put that on our flagship channel.” Then put a Milan Napoli match on the second channel, which was created just for instances like this.

It’s just frustrating that I’m going to have to stream the game between the two most successful teams in English history, while some entirely uninteresting game is on FSC, which is all a lot of us have.

This is, in my view, quite a slap in the face.

Again, how is the game with the two most successful teams in English football history not on Fox Soccer’s main channel.

  14. i was told by att&t uverse rep that i would get FSC HD and FOX SOCCER PLUS when Setanta went away on March 1st. It is March 19 and none of it has happend, i even saved the email where i joking said my marriage was at stake if i didnt get FSC HD
