This Weekend’s Soccer on TV

The race for the English Premier League title, as well as the race for the precious fourth place Champions League spot still up for graps in the Premier league, will both be on the line when Tottenham faces Manchester United.

The Red Devils are on Chelsea's heels for the title, while Spurs are trying to hold off Manchester City for the valuable Champions League spot it currently holds. Tottenham-Manchester United is one of several quality Premier League tilts on the schedule, including Everton-Fulham and the Aston Villa-Birmingham Derby match.

MLS also has some great matches this weekend, including the newly-minted rivalry between the New York Red Bulls and Philadelphia Union, as well as a highly-anticipated tilt between the unbeaten LA Galaxy and Kansas City Wizards.

  1. Chelsea can’t drop points against Stoke or else we are in real trouble. Stoke kinda scares me with their midfield and back line.

  2. I don’t speak german, but read a translated article on bild that seemed to indicate that st. pauli were promoted.

  3. I thought that they’d changed the rules so that the top three clubs were automatically promoted and the bottom three automatically relegated. Please correct me if I’m wrong because I could certainly be mistaken.

  4. Aren’t they only guaranteed promotion to the relegation play-off against? They could still end up 3rd and have to play the 16th place team in the bundesliga. It would be nice to see them play Hamburg in the Bundesliga next year, though.

  5. Not that anyone cares, but St. Pauli won 6-1 against Koblenz today, and are now guaranteed promotion to the Bundesliga. !!!!!!!!!!!

  7. I really hope he plays a good portion of the match. I haven’t seen him in action for a long time. The more I see this weekly post of matches on TV, the more I realize I don’t have half as many channels as I need 🙁

  8. Come On You Spurs!

Make it 3 in a row. First Arsenal, then Chelsea and this week we’re going to Old Trafford and we’re gonna collect on some Glazer debts, son.

  9. rumors have it that Manchester and AC Milan are considering a Swap” of Berbatov for Huntelaar. That would be great if it came to pass. However, I don’t see Milan making a straight trade for Berbatov. I think Sir Alex may have to hold a garage sale in the Old Trafford parking lot to get rid of him.
