Barcelona will try to take a step closer to repeating as UEFA Champions League winners when the defending champions take on Inter Milan today in their semifinal first-leg in Italy (2:45pm, FSN/FSE, DirecTV).

Barca-Inter is a dream match-up that many are pegging as the de facto final. You have Mourinho vs. Guardiola, Messi vs. Samuel and Zanetti, Dani Alves vs. Maicon, Gabriel Milito vs. Diego Milito. Wesley Snjeider vs. Xavi. The list goes on and on.

Here is our question for you. Which team do you think will win the series?

How do you see today's first leg going? Think Barcelona will be tired from its long trip to Italy, or will Messi find a way to work his magic?

  1. If Ibra, Henry, or Pedro don’t step up, the Special One will put 5 defenders on Messi. Someone besides Leo needs to score for Barca to win.

  2. Inter will bruise their way to a 1-1 scoreline but Barca will rip them a new one in the second leg. Barca always plays better in the second game.

  3. Messi can not be stopped…except when he’s playing against defenders from Brazil. Football Club Internazionale Milano is going to get it done this time. I’ve been saying that Inter will win this tournament from day one, gotta stick with them.

  4. the best Inter can hope for is a draw. When the coach mentions maybe starting the best right back in the world in midfield to slow down their attack, you’re up against a good team.

A side not, it’ll be intereting to see Alves v. Maicon, two of my favorite fullbacks.

  5. I give the advantage to Barca, even without Iniesta. Not saying they are far supperior to Inter, but I don’t think the Inter defense can stop Messi.

  6. While I do think that Barca will take this series, I see Inter getting a result today at home. They have been quite stellar at home this year, and the long travel by bus for Barcelona will affect their sharpness and performance.

Key matchup for me, Sneijder in the middle against the strong central midfielders of Barca.

  8. I don’t know if you can really say Inter are the only team that can get in Barca’s way. Bayern with Ribery and Robben out on the flanks can really exploit Barca’s wide backs pushing forward. They could give Barca a lot of problems in the final if they both make it.
