The New York Red Bulls and Seattle Sounders were locked in an even match that saw few chances between either side on Saturday, but Fredy Montero came off the bench to remind us why he's one of the most dangerous strikers in Major League Soccer.

Montero's 85th-minute strike helped give the Sounders a 1-0 victory on Saturday night, snapping a four-match winless streak and handing New York its first loss at Red Bull Arena.

Montero had been benched after a long stretch of ineffectiveness, but came off the bench and made the Red Bulls pay, beating Mike Petke after collecting a long Brad Evans pass before sliding a shot underneath Bouna Coundoul.

The loss drops the Red Bulls to 5-3 just five days before a battle with fellow Eastern Conference leader Columbus on Thursday.
