  1. Neutral fan perspective…. I’m not really sure what frank is talking about. I’m baffled at how people can say that Inter were shameful or embarrassing or disgraceful or use any other negative adjective. I thought they played brilliantly over both legs. You can’t criticize a team that’s playing a man down for about 60 minutes of a 2nd leg match against Barcelona in the Camp Nou and gets the result they need. I’m sorry, but you just can’t whip out the “they didn’t ‘play’ football” card. That’s just a tactically ignorant statement to make. Bottom line – Inter were without question the tactically better team and their players performed those tactics almost to perfection. And that my friends is what you call “special”.

  3. Stoke 1 Fulham 0. Etherington in the 80th min or something like that.

I thought for sure Dempsey was going to score.

  4. No need to mention the soccer in this country I guess. Avi, there are 4 MLS games today!?!?

Fulham v. Stoke for 10th place, but not MLS ?

  5. Not an Inter fan, by the way.

However, how can you criticize Inter for the way they played the FIRST game?

Why would anyone call them a cheap excuse of a team? They offensively outplayed Barca in the first game, then turned around and shut them down (minus the one goal) defensively in the second game despite being a man short.

  6. Huddlestone with a yellow card for a stomping motion on DeJong. But DeJong probably deserved it. Really don’t like that guy, especially after he injured Stuart Holden in January. Reminds me somewhat of Gattuso.

  7. That recent injury, the one that made the news didn’t look like it was really a dirty play. Shawcross is a good player who had a bit of bad luck and a bad name after a previous nasty tackle injury.

  8. Does anyone else think that Gareth Bale looks like a brown haired Scott Farkus from a Christmas Story?

Someone get that man a coon-skin hat!

  9. don’t no if your a inter fan, but you sure are funny standing up for a cheap excuse of a team, one that has some of the best players in the world, to play the 2 legs like they did vs. barca is just embarrassing and shameful. but that’s right the specialone has his army i guess.

  10. Have never seen Shawcross play, but from what I heard he’s a leading candidate to get a lifetime ban. Clint should stay away, far away.

  11. Maybe they could learn how to drop to the field as if they’d just recieved a hand to the face… now who could teach them that move? Oh, Barcelona’s players could teach them how to do that!

  12. Gomes has made two excellent saves, but Spurs have hit the post and had a goal disallowed. So, I’d say it’s been about even.

  13. After Inter score on a nice counter, their entire squad drop like shot by an AK47 at every opportunity. This is one reason why the Special One is not so special for many.
