The San Jose Earthquakes twice battled from one-goal deficits to salvage a 2-2 draw with the Columbus Crew at Buck Shaw Stadium Wednesday night.

Chris Wondolowski maintained his hot start to the season with his sixth goal, a 79th-minute header off a cross from Scott Sealy that pulled the Quakes level.

Eddie Gaven and Arturo Alvarez swapped goals in the opening five minutes, and the game remained tied until Chad Marshall headed home a Guillermo Barros Schelotto corner kick in the 70th minute to put the Crew ahead momentarily.

Match highlights are after the jump:

CAPELLO EXTENDS ENGLAND STAY

England manager Fabio Capello has signed an amended contract that excludes an opt-out clause for after the World Cup, meaning that he intends to manage the team through Euro 2012.

Capello's initial contract gave him the option of leaving the England post after this summer's tournament to pursue other coaching opportunities, but he has committed his future to the Three Lions and left some of the top club teams in the world (i.e. Inter Milan) scrambling for other coaching options.

ENGLAND REVEALS JERSEY NUMBERS

David James has drawn the No. 1 jersey for England this summer, leading to speculation that he'll be between the pipes when the United States and England do battle in nine days.

Wayne Rooney, not surprisingly, will don the No. 10 shirt.

Here's the complete squad:

  1. David James
  2. Glen Johnson
  3. Ashley Cole
  4. Steven Gerard
  5. Rio Ferdinand
  6. John Terry
  7. Aaron Lennon
  8. Frank Lampard
  9. Peter Crouch
  10. Wayne Rooney
  11. Joe Cole
  12. Robert Green
  13. Stephen Warnock
  14. Gareth Barry
  15. Matthew Upson
  16. James Milner
  17. Shaun Wright-Phillips
  18. Jamie Carragher
  19. Jermain Defoe
  20. Ledley King

MAICON EYES MADRID

Brazilian defender Maicon, considered by many to be the best right back in the world, is reportedly interested in reuniting with Jose Mourinho after revealing his passion to play for Real Madrid.

Maicon helped lead Inter Milan to the UEFA Champions League crown and he would add yet another dynamic to a team that is desperately trying to overcome rival Barcelona on the world stage.

UKRAINE GETS GREEN LIGHT TO CO-HOST EURO 2012

Ukraine and Poland will co-host Euro 2012 as planned, after UEFA approved Ukraine's progress in completing work to its stadiums and airports. Germany and Hungary had emerged as secondary options if UEFA were to deny Ukraine of the right to host the tournament.
