Navas golazo leads Spain over S. Korea

By AVI CREDITOR

Just what the rest of the world needs to see: Spain has another capable finishing threat.

Jesus Navas' first goal for La Furia Roja lifted his side to a 1-0 win over South Korea in an international friendly Thursday afternoon.

Navas took one touch after receiving a pass about 25 yards out from goal and rifled a laser into the right upper 90 to break the scoreless deadlock in the 85th minute.

Here is video of the strike:

  1. love jesus navas, he’s been doing his thing since he was 18 and he’s just now getting the recognition he deserves. a really fun player to watch. I really hope he can put his homesickness quirk behind him in south africa because he has all the ability to dominate on the right flank for spain

  2. People who watch La Liga know that Navas is a great player. Don’t see him moving to Madrid, especially if they are serious about Di Maria.

  3. Great goal by Navas.

Look out for this South Korean team, they are going to turn some heads in this World Cup. I think they are going to get out of their group along with Argentina.

  4. I am glad that Navas is finally taking an honest shot with Spain’s national team. He has been a phenomenal player with Sevilla, and it is nice to see a person overcoming tremendous personal issues.

  5. I think it’s pretty obvious that Navas should be starting for Spain in the first WC game, and should probably get a transfer to Real Madrid this summer…

  6. Same thoughts. I’ve liked what I’ve seen from South Korea so far. A game like today’s on any other day and they could of won it. At tournaments things happen.

    Now the secretive North Koreans….

  7. Beautiful goal. However, South Korea should not be discouraged. Just before the goal they had two brilliant opportunities to score on headers: 1) a mistake from Valdez 2) a sitter where the striker just couldn’t get his diving head to it. By and large, I thought they played Spain more or less straight up for 70-80 mins. With Argentina, Greece and Nigeria in your group, I would be optimistic after this. Given Spain wasn’t throwing the kitchen sink at them but still won.
