Two MLS games stand between now and a two-week break for the World Cup. With that in mind, two Eastern Conference teams go head-to-head tonight as the Kansas City Wizards (2-5-3) host the Philadelphia Union (2-6-1) at 8:00pm (MLS Direct Kick).

Both teams need the momentum going into the extended break, and tonight's match also marks Philadelphia's final game before opening brand-new PPL Park on June 27. Meanwhile, Kansas City is looking for its first win since April 10.

If you will be watching tonight's match, please feel free to share your thoughts, opinions and some play-by-play in the comments section below. SBI will be providing live commentary for the D.C. United-Seattle Sounders game later tonight.

Enjoy the action.

  1. That’s rude. He doesnt suck. He is a young talent that needs to develop and get use to MLS. The Wizards didnt bring him on for publicity. If that were the case, they would be selling merchandise to India like crazy and they arent selling anything.

  2. The only hype was in India. He was brought on as a development project. He will get some minutes but is just not ready for first team action yet. He is use to being the center of attention and here he is just another player. It takes time to adjust.

  3. The World Cup break could not come at a better time for the Union. Hopefully some home cookin’ in the new digs will turn the season around.

  4. More or less true. As I write, they don’t seem to realize there’s no commercial playing.

  5. I’ve been watching the game on an internet feed with the KC announcers. They are AWFUL, they don’t shut up the entire time and don’t even seem to understand the game! And the telecast, three cards and they only show one? And yes, I am a bitter Union fan, but their announcers make the game unwatchable (well them and seitz) thanks for the rant……

  6. Half time and the Wizards lead 2-0, and are up a man. The Union defense has looked terrible, and KC is taking advantage.

  7. I’m still disappointed in not seeing Sunil Chhetri play for the Wizard……… there was so much hype and he is a good player I just don’t know what’s wrong?

  8. And KC gets the first goal, 9th minute. Great finish from Kamara at the top of the box, but Harvey should have been there.

And Escobar is subbed out for Besler.

  9. I like to think that this could be the Union’s first shutout of the season. It could also be their first 2-0 victory.

On the other hand, the Wizards can’t be underestimated. They’ve played well at times. This should be fun to watch.

    Go Union!
