While Ives will be traveling down to the World Cup, the folks staying behind at SBI have decided to host a viewing party for the USA v. England match on June, 12.
The party will be at Dempsey's at 61 2nd Avenue, between 3rd and 4th street on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Dempsey's is great place to watch a soccer game with a lot of TVs and a great atmosphere.
We have put together a drink special for our readers to partake in. It will b 30$ all you can drink beer and wine from 1-5 PM. The SBI readership will have a back area roped off just for us from 12 until 1:45 to talk and get to know each other. The wristbands will only be sold until 1:45 when the back area will be opened up to general public.
There are drink specials for anyone coming late, choosing not to take advantage of the all you can drink wristband. Those specials will be posted on the site next week.
We would love to have any viewers in the New York area choose to watch one of the most highly anticipated matches of the tournament with SBI.

Planning on coming to the party? Like Dempsey's? Have you ever been there before? Share your thoughts below.
DOES anyone know a great place to watch the game in biloxi?!?!
Could use some help, have to be down there for business….
I know I’ll find it, but wouldn’t mind a like minded group of folks and good beer/atmosphere.

says it all…
GO TO THE DARK HORSE IN PHILLY!!!
The outlaws took us there for the turkey game. AMAZING. old style two story bar with a room dedicated to soccer. you will run into many like minded people, and they have great grub too!!!
seriously, go there. don’t even think about somewhere else.
421 s. 2nd street

Any place ching used to hang out at? Lots of nice restaurants on ala moana blvd… i’m sure plenty of places will have the game.
ask the outlaws there! they throw a great party.
the official bar for the pregame and after party for czech was at damon’s tavern at 310 prospect.
Damn, sure wish I could get back up to manhatten for round two@
The Harp is good. Other San Diego soccer bars are Shakespeare’s in Mid-town, Princess Pub in Little Italy, and O’Brien’s (official US Soccer bar) in Kearny Mesa.
Jack Demsey’s the AO NYC bar is Bar/restaurant.
Come there…probably more singing.
I’ll be in the Brewhouse, with about 5 friends coming with me.
Also, the home of the Atlanta chapter of the AO
Good luck finding a place to watch in Amsterdam or Cologne…Europe is a soccer backwater, man.
But seriously, head over to noshortcorners and ask Greg about where to watch in Amsterdam.
For national team games, I just chug between breaths. Seems to work pretty well for me.
Boooo
Any SBI reader from nashville or the rest of the middle tn area gathering at a bar. if your looking for a place several of us will be gathering at Sams sports bar on 21st.
The more the merrier.
Flying in from Houston. Definitely going to check out Dempsey’s. Guess you gotta get there early.
Puebla because I live here.
i work in bridgewater nj….anyone know where i can watch the slovenia and algeria matches??thanks………will be blocking the calendar for some long morning meetings!!!
Fado Philadelphia.
It’s on 15th and Locust. Block party starting at 7:30 AM and and 18 foot big screen outdoors.
chug when Dempsey turns it over, trying to trick out the English defenders
chug when Onyewu gets beaten for a header
chug when the announcer says “Donovan has been quiet so far in this half”
err…net
Any drinking games?
Here’s a few suggestions:
* chug when Harksey says fantastic
* chug when Harksey says side instead of team
* chug when either Clark or Bradley get carded
* finish your drink immediately if Bornstein gets subbed in
Puebla? Because of Gomez?
Puebla, Mexico; at MUSA café, they have a private theatre/audio visual room in the back with a big screen. got it reserved, gonna be streaming live. no cover, 15 peso minimum consumption.
vamos gringos!
Anyone know a good place in the Hartford area (CT)?
Anyone know where to watch it in Honolulu?
I’m from Greenwood. Is one of the couple a native, or have they just relocated there?
I would have to second going to Greenville or Columbia for the match. It isn’t but 45 minutes to an hour’s drive to Columbia, which isn’t that bad if you are using to commuting in a large city.
Looking for suggestions for Philadelphia for the first match, Amsterdam for the second, and Cologne for the final group match-up. I know nothing of the European cities, and very little about Philadelphia.
I reviewed this with Temyrss Lane and it appears it was cancelled. I think they probably couldn’t get one of the hotels to host it. There is Crown & Anchor the Official US Soccer Pub (per http://www.ussoccer.com) but its actually a darn Brit Pub and will not be an official US pub that day. There is also Mulligans which is an Irish soccer pub.
I also heard ESPN Zone and Planet Hollywood will have “viewing areas”
I’m in Vegas for a vacation and will be at one of these places for the England US game.
Great call w/ Danny Coyles, Serg.
I was thinking Summers. For some reason I feel bad for not going to the British Bulldog in Denver…
You’re welcome.
Go to Danny Coyle’s in the Upper Haight, great soccer bar! My brother and I watched a few of the qualifiers there, it’s also the bar for the unofficial American Outlaws chapter in the Bay as well. Wish I could be there this time around
Thanks Jorge, appreciate it.
He’s in South Africa for the World Cup. Is there a Plan B?
Salt Lake shout out, where we meeting??
Well #1 I NEVER go to Columbia. #2 My buddy and his fiance would not be happy if one or multiple groomsmen left town hours before their wedding. Nothing like a hitchin on a farm.
Does anyone know if anyplace is going to have it in 3D. Now that would be worth driving to….
I am in Las Vegas (business) during US v England. Where is a good place to go to watch the match. I heard Wynalda saying something about a place there on Fox Fone In but didnt actually say the name of the place….
aagh why does the Go! reunion have to be during the game? i guess they’ll go on around 6 but i imagine ABC will be packed by then.
The Dynamo FO is doing a good job. They’re throwing a party at Discovery Green (park in downtown) with an projector screen, beer booths, cheerleader, giveaways, etc. for USA & Mexico openers.
But I’ll probably be at Earnie’s on Banks with the rest of AO.
ok DC SBI folk…where we meeting? Summers/Molly Malone’s?
Haven’t been there for a while, so maybe it’s closed, but I used to watch a sh*t load of Kings games at a big sports bar way out on the Granite Bay side of Douglas, across from a Jack in the Box. Don’t know if that helps. Go USA!
I’m from Roseville. I’ve never really heard of any soccer bars in the area, but I’ll check it out though. I might just have friends over at my house since I’ll be returning from school for the summer.
Thanks.
Sounds like a plan. A bunch of us were trying to figure out where to go. The “other bar” in that neighborhood tends to get too crowded for big games and is likely to have a bigger English presence.
There’s also some Irish bar giving away beers with every goal against France! Anyone know where that one is?
Actually Columbia is much closer. Go to Cock N Bull in Columbia (cnbpub.net). Its an amazing soccer pub.
i definitely plan on showing up for the special! is there any special code to mention for the open bar deal, or just mention soccerbyives.com??
i’ll be there – go yanks!
They are showing the game at the ballpark? This is news to me. To add to your list:
Danny Coyles
Kezar Pub
Those two are great venues for US games.
HAHA! 1) why are you in NinetySix? 2) There is literally NOTHING in that town. 3) Drive to Greenville and find a place on Main St. There is a good Irish Bar where I watched the ’06 games (forgot the name, but you cant miss it).
