  6. That is how I think the US might become a top team; combining the athleticism of Europeans with the skills of Hispanic immigrants. But that will only happen until the youth systems changes.

  7. WHAT A MISS… if we combined mexico’s speed with our height & finish prowess, man, that would be a decent team.

  8. Mexico has been showing why it makes sense to have a 60-day training camp. Agreed that if they had a guy like Luis Herandez they would be really dangerous. Unfortunately for them they have tiny GKs and horrible finishing. Chicarito just gave Medina a sitter and he fell all over himself on the 6.

  9. If Mexico weren’t such poor finishers, they’d be really dangerous in this tourament. Its like they need 10 chances to convert 1. They are really tearing the Italians up though.

    Italy looks terrible.

  10. I will tell you what, the US really need to get a nice run of luck out of the gate. But anyone who feels that we cant compete with England is crazy. We did just fine last year once we pulled our heads out of our rear ends against the best in the world.

  11. The “host” on Studio 90 on US soccer.com is extremely annoying. The show seems to be all about him and not the players!

    And Forza Italia!

  12. Fulham will be playing pre-season friendlies in England in late July. However, given it’s so soon after the World Cup, the likes of Dempsey and EJ might not take part.

  13. All those warmup games might be paying off for Mexico. Their chemistry looks terrific, totally out-attacking Italy. They just missed a direct kick.

  14. At this stage in their preparations they would hospitalize him for precaution (they mentioned that his scans for a break came back negative which is good news). Problem is, a sprain can take anywhere from 2 to 12 weeks to fully heal depending on the severity of it. Since we are less than 2 weeks from The England match question is if they will support it and put him back on the field or have him sit out the first game and play in the second 2.
