Seth Stammler isn't known for his goal-scoring exploits, but you would have thought he was a seasoned goal scorer the way he blasted home the game winner in the New York Red Bulls' 1-0 win against Chivas USA on Saturday night at Red Bull Arena.

Stammler blasted home a left-footed shot from 30 yards out in the 27th minute to give the Red Bulls (7-5) a lead they never surrendered. New York's defense held Chivas USA at bay as Bouna Coundoul made three saves to preserve the shutout.

The win, New York's second straight, moved the Red Bulls into a tie for first place with the Columbus Crew (which holds a game in hand), while Chivas USA (3-8-1) lost its fifth straight to remain in last place in the West.

Here are the highlights from last night's match:

What did you think of New York's performance? Impressed with the performances of Stammler, Tony Tchani and Tim Ream last night? Think Chivas USA is doomed to finish last in the West?
