Finishing second in goal scoring in La Liga at just 22-years-old is no small feat, so it should come as no surprise that Real Madrid has extended the stay of Gonzalo Higuain.
Having ended the season with 27 goals, second to only Leo Messi's 34, Higuain has signed a new deal that will keep him with Real Madrid through the 2015-16 season. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Higuain is currently with the Argentine national team preparing for its World Cup opener against Nigeria on June 12.

Tottenham targeting Cole
Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has expressed his desire in signing Joe Cole, whose contract with Chelsea expires this summer. Redknapp feels that Cole could be a difference maker with Tottenham, and is eager to talk with the English winger once he returns from the World Cup.
Hunterlaar keen on Milan Stay
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar made just 11 starts in his first season with AC Milan, but the Dutch international is keen on cementing his role with the club. Huntelaar, who has three years remaining on his contract, has been linked with moves to Benfica and Tottenham Hotspur, but he has insisted on proving his worth in Italy before moving to another club.

I don’t think Huntelaar will make his mark in Italy, but I like the guts in not leaving for another league after one bad year.
The additions of he and Joe Cole would make Tottenham a very interesting team next year, especially given how weak (in comparison to recent years) the top of the EPL was this year.
I follow Dempsey and Howard…but, yeah, pretty much a man crush on LD. He has a chance to be the biggest American icon in the EPL–no disrespect to the guys you listed–but in just a handful of games with Everton, we all got a glimpse of how far LD can make it. He’s honestly on a deifferent level than any other.
of course he is! i guess due to the injury, he has just kinda slid down th pecking order since they had a wonderful season without him. regardless, lennon @ 100% starts in my eyes.

You think you can do better than Colesy to feed Defoe and Crouch? Good luck. I can’t imagine a better fit for J.Cole, with him on the right and Bale on the left. Wow….that scares me as a Blues fan.

As a Spurs fan, I can’t say that I would really be excited about Cole. I don’t think the wings should be the priority right now.

Donovan at Chelsea would not be an every game starter but with all the matches Chelsea plays he would have the opportunity to play a lot of games.

Right. But his wages will be quite high, I would imagine. I was more commenting on the number of high caliber players Spurs have brought in lately.
I think Donovan is better off at Everton…hes already beloved there and is almost guaranteed a starting spot. If Everton hold onto Pienaar, Arteta and Fellaini and add Donovan then I think they definitely have a realistic shot at a CL spot
Donovan would have a tough time breaking into the starting 11 at Chelsea. He is a very good player….Chelsea is chalk full of very good players.
Cole is out of contract and will be signed on a free transfer.
Well, it would be a free transfer. Securing a CL spot really put themselves in position to make this signing.
hopefully Spurs do sign Cole and LD has a great WC. This may open a door for him with the Blues. I am no Chelsea fan, but would love to have a reason to at least follow an EPL team closely.
Spurs have become quite the high spenders since Harry took over, it seems.
