The 2010 FIFA World Cup won't kick off until Friday, but the festivities in South Africa are well underway.
The World Cup Kickoff Concert has begun at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto and can be seen live on ESPN2. Thousands of fans have packed into the stadium to catch the concert, which includes performances from the Black Eyed Peas and Shakira.
If you're stuck at work or not in front of a TV, you can catch all the performances over at ESPN3.com.
What do you think of the concert? Getting even more pumped for tomorrow?

Shakira is hot. That is all.
I will be pulling for Honduras and even (ahem) Mexico. Go CONCACAF!
Nope Bono had emergency back surgery a week or so ago.. Their tour has been canceled as a result so I would be shocked if they were in SA!
Patrick Viera! Hope he actually got called in for someone.
Glad they are letting K’Naan’s orginal lyrics about Somolia… much closer to home for most Africans.
Unfortunately our ISP doesn’t subscribe. I get it at home of course, but not here. Going to have to take very strategic lunches the next month.
is it me or does juanes look like iker casillas? lol
Terrible concert…
my freakin internet on my phone has been out for a week… damn Sprint. i have espn on my phone but can’t even watch it at work!
IMO, that song should be the only official WC song. So much better than Waka waka and it’s original and has more of a tie to the tournament. No offense to Shakira, what she does, she does well, but this and her last WC song are just remixes that she takes and hypes up a little more.
And Honduras should be rooting for us…matter of fact they should be carrying our luggage after we helped them get into the tournament
I am recovering from a back injury so we needed to cancel some shows. FU France!!!
Anyone really upset that K’Naans Wavin Flag was not the official anthem? I know it is Coca Colas but it is very catchy and makes me get excited…
@AaronSTL… does it not work at your office due to filter restrictions? Or because their network does not subscribe? I know on the ESPN 360 you could enter your provider and an email address and it would grant you access.
Same. Although this is just another sad reminder that ESPN 3 doesn’t work at my office.
I think we should…. honduras and mexico doing good will reflect well on us

Black Eyed Peas sound terrible live

Not just live…..IMO.
Who is this right now?
Yup, they are one of the many groups of the past decade who can’t actually sing. Average voices, tons of enhancement.
I’m obviously rooting for the Yanks first and foremost, but does anyone else in SBI-land think we should be rooting for Honduras as some sort showing of CONCACAF solidarity?
Hugh Masakela is one cool dude
I’m glad I am stuck at work with no video privileges. That same situation will suck starting tomorrow though.
Maybe tomorrow for the kickoff
Is FIFA trying to appeal to the under 5 set by booking black eyed peas? ugh. Boom Boom Kill Me Now.
bout time they did some curtis mayfield this music is bumping makes me wish i was there even more
indeed.
Blatter and Zuma make george bush look like a good public speaker..
but the rest of the Music is awesome!
