While most of the Americans Abroad contingent is either currently resting or preparing for the upcoming seasons, two players were busy scoring goals this past weekend.
Clarence Goodson and Mikkel Diskerud each scored goals for their respective clubs on Sunday, and both were headers.
Goodson provided the game-winner in IK Start's 1-0 win over Aalesunds, latching onto a beautiful cross from American teammate Hunter Freeman and heading it home. Goodson's goal marked the second consecutive match that he scored in.
Diskerud didn't lead Stabaek IF to victory, but he did help the club earn a result by scoring a goal and assisting on another in its 2-2 draw against SK Brann. Diskerud headed the opener off a corner to the far post and in. He also got an assist in the second half, but Stabaek could not hold on to the lead.
You can see Diskerud's goal and assist here and Goodson's after the jump:
What do you think of Goodson's goal? How about Diskerud's? Do you see both players having a significant role with the U.S. national team in the next few years?
