It's no secret that Chelsea is intrigued by Sergio Aguero, but that partnership looks closer to becoming a reality after the Argentine striker revealed he is excited at the possibility of playing for the Blues.
Currently signed with Atletico Madrid, Aguero is keen on signing with a bigger club so as to win championships and feels Chelsea fits that bill. He also admitted the thought of playing alongside Didier Drogba is very appealing.
Atletico Madrid has already accepted defeat in terms of retaining Aguero, but will only sell him if the right price is offered.
Here are more transfer stories from the weekend:
Szetela trialing with Polish club Lechia Gdansk
Danny Szetela could soon be playing in Poland.
Szetela will be trialling with Lechia Gdansk in an effort to play competitive soccer again after being cut by D.C. United in March. Szetela previously played in Europe with for Italian club Brescia.
Schweinsteiger open to leaving Bayern
Bastian Schweinsteiger enjoyed a fine performance at the World Cup and that may lead to him leaving Bayern Munich, the club which he has spent his entire professional career with. Schweinsteiger has been linked with clubs like Chelsea and Real Madrid, and while he is happy with Bayern, he is open to a move away from the German giant.
Keirrison to join Santos on loan
Barcelona forward Keirrison is set to be loaned out to Santos after his 18-month loan with Fiorentina was prematurely terminated. Just half a season into his deal, Keirrison is leaving the Italian club and looks to be loaned out to his third club in the last two years. He was loaned to Benfica in 2009.
Suarez eyes Premiership switch
Luis Suarez has said he is open to a move to the Premier League, with Manchester United and Tottenham being among the preferred destinations. While it is unclear how much interest has been expressed by the clubs, Suarez said Ajax will have a hard time keeping him if a Premier League team comes calling.

Is Aguero to Chelsea a good fit? Think Szetela will earn a spot with Lechia? Do you see Schweinsteiger leaving Bayern? How do you see Keirrison's loan to Santos going? Think Suarez would be a good fit in the Premiership?

guys, don’t forget szetela is of polish background… but also has knee problems unfortunately…
Well, if Freddy Adu can get employ in Greece, perhaps Szetela can get playing time in Poland.
With the quotation marks, are you implying that the EPL is not the premier league in England? You realize the name isn’t referring to it being the premier league on the world, right?
Netherlands would be great for Jozy to finally learn technique and touch.
good guess
I’d love to see Jozy Altidore replace Luis Suarez at Ajax.
“Chunky” Aguero is more than welcome to leave to a team of a lesser league, such as the overrated Chelsea with its loathsome ex-skipper in the so-called “Premier” League of England. Personally, the Italian Serie A is more in tune to his style of play, and definitly the only other league that is an equal to La Liga. Adios gordito!
Sounds like Nowak was behind this…
That’s not part of my game. I like to party baby!!!
If Szetela decides he wants to work hard, it could be a positive move.
I really hope Schweinsteiger doesn’t go to Spain, I’d love to see him in the premier league, or stay in Germany.
In reference to Ives’s preference to Iker
Huh? Forlan won the Golden Ball.
How could Iker deserve the Golden Ball over Forlan? Maybe Iniesta or Xavi… but Forlan literally carried Uruguay aside form the South Korea game. Casillas made the stops he needed to, but it wasn’t like he single-handedly kept Spain alive.
I don’t know if anybody in EPL can afford to pry Suarez away. Some type of financial reckoning has to be coming here sooner or later
Too bad he isn’t college soccer eligible. The local D3 team nearby could use him.
*at* his asking price…. obviously.
Polish First Division? I guess it could (conceivably) be worse. Were no MLS teams interested in him, or just not his asking price?
Either way, hope he can get it back on track!
that’s a shame about szetela’s descent. i don’t know too much about him as a person, so i don’t know if he’s sabotaged his possible success with bad habits; but when big clubs are interested and now trying to catch on in gdansk? ouch.
