Two spots in the U.S. Open Cup semifinals will be cemented Tuesday night, as the Columbus Crew look to avoid being upset by the Charleston Battery and the Houston Dynamo and Chivas USA do battle in an all-Major League Soccer quarterfinal.

The Battery outlasted the Chicago Fire in penalty kicks to reach the quarterfinals, but the USL-2 side will likely face a more stern test in the Crew, which has tremendous depth to go with its talent-laden roster. First kick for that match is at 7:30 p.m. at Crew Stadium (video stream live here/audio stream live here

The Dynamo and Goats meet at 8:30 p.m. at Robertson Stadium (audio stream live here). Houston has an 11-game unbeaten streak against Chivas, which will look to advance to the U.S. Open Cup semifinals for the first time in franchise history.

If you will be watching or listening to either or both of these matches, please feel free to share any thoughts, opinions and play-by-play in the comments section below. Enjoy the games!

  2. Any word on what Kinnear will do for a lineup with Landin, Cameron, and Davis all hurt? I’m expecting Palmer, Mullan, Ngwenya, and Ashe in the MF with Weaver and Oduro up top. Any word?
