The U.S. men's national team saw its World Cup end less than a month ago, but time waits for no team and now it is just three weeks until the United States returns to the field to take on Brazil on August 10th at the new Meadowlands Stadium in New Jersey.

The first post-World Cup friendly should feature most of the team's top stars, but it should also offer the opportunity for a few new faces to be called in. Whether it is Bob Bradley, or some other coach, whoever picks the team will probably call in a few players who weren't part of the U.S. World Cup team.

With that in mind, here is our question for you. Which player who didn't make the U.S. World Cup team would you like to see be called in for the Brazil friendly? We'll only implement two exclusions, Jermaine Jones and Charlie Davies. Both are recovering from lengthy injury ordeals and both are working their way back with the respective clubs, making a call-up at this point in their recoveries very questionable (assuming either is even healthy enough for full international duty).

So, there you have it. Select ONE player you are hoping to see be called in for the Brazil friendly who wasn't on the World Cup team.

  1. Enough of Altidore… we need forward who can score. Period. I’d like to see Omar Gonzalez, Kevin Aliston and Eric Lichaj on Defence. With Gooch…if he is ready. Holden in mid and someone who can score at forward! If we cant find capab le forwards, play Dempsey and Donnovan up front as we have plenty of capable Mid fielders. They are the only goal scorers at the moment.

  2. Fire Bob Bradley and hire Jurgen Klinsmann as the new US soccer team coach. It’s our only chance to get to the next level of soccer. Bradley was a horrible coach. We could have done so much better in the World Cup with Klinsmann at the helm.

  3. what ever happened to Kamani Hill? He was with the USA U20 in ’04+’05 and UCLA…but then seemed to disappear. I remember watching him play and being rather impressed and thought he would have a bright future ahead of him.

  4. Friendly caps don’t mean jack sh*t. Only Gold Cup or Copa America or European Champion Qualifiers or European Championship or World Cup qualifers or World Cup cap tie you

  5. You are half right. Bunbury was with the ODP for many years. The reason he chose Canada was b/c he was ignored by the US jr teams. That prompted his dad to get him in the Canadian youth system.

  6. Preston Zimmerman, Kenny Cooper, Alejandro Bedoya and Clarence Goodson. I know Goodson made the team, but he didn’t get to play and he is really the future of the defense.
