  1. If I’m correct, these games are to qualify for the group games. Are there any MLS teams that automatically qualified for the the group stages? Or for that matter do any teams, at all, qualify for the group stages automatically (based on their previous seasons results)?

  2. This is the worst professional field I’ve ever seen in my life.

Jesus, I cannot believe this is allowed! I would boycott the match.

  3. What’s is the realistic state of MLS academies? How long till any of them are consistently producing potential first team talent?

  4. Can we expect any of the MLS academies to produce worthy talent at an acceptable rate (compared to the top mexican teams) any time in the near future?

  5. And we aspire to beat the Mexican teams; in Mexico no less. It looks as if the MLS still has some growing to do before it will be competitive with the biggest North American clubs like Chivas, America, and Pachuca.
Hopefully, the new rules for the academies will give them scope to develop the talent they need. Chivas and Pachuca both do a great job developing talent and could be models for our own teams.

  6. On a separate note. Wasn’t this game moved because the original stadium didn’t meet standards? What is that field an improvement on?

  7. Good to see they corrected it. But I wonder how they accidentally posted that Meta-pan scored a second. How is MLSsoccer following the game?

  8. Why is MLS saying that it’s 2-0 Metapan? I’ve been watching the a t d h e . n e t stream from 25 minutes on and it’s now half time and the score is 1 -0. Does MLS.com have a crystal ball or is the “live” stream actually at least 25 minutes behind. Or is mls.com wrong.

  9. In other news Chivas Guadalajara up 2-0 on U de Chile in the Libertadores semifinal. U de Chile now need 3 goals to advance to the final. CONCACAF representing in the biggest club tournament outside Europe.
