I don’t support NYRB so I’m not panicking so thanks for your thoughts in case I was. I just don’t think the team is being put in a position to win right now by the coach.
Not to mention that the officials ruined clear scoring opportunities for NYRB. Henry was molested twice in the box with no call and the side official needed a 5Hour energy drink because he fell asleep at the wheel.
It’s pretty early to be pressing the panic button. They lost to LA which happens to be the best team in the league, incase anyone hadn’t noticed. And it’s been only, what, a game and a half of total playing time for Marquez so far? Deep breaths, people.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching rafa give up the ball in the middle that lead to the Galaxy goal. Rafa looks god awful in the run of play in MLS right now. Its going to take him a good while to adjust. Lindpere seems wasted on the left right now because they have two ineffective people in the middle with tchani and rafa when they have the ball. I would move henry to the top of the diamond and bench rafa or tchani and then have kandji start up top with angel…Henry looks the most effective right now when he is the playmaker so let him do that. Its a waste to have both him and angel up top if they don’t see the ball enough per game. Everytime Henry has dropped back that team has come to life.
Landon is spot on about the difficulties Henry and Marquez will experience with the travel and the hotter climate. I was at the game and thought it was a great atmosphere. I am dissappointed to see Henry is still scoreless in MLS after 4 games though 3 assists is still a good return but his timing just doesn’t seem right. Hopefully things will start to click in the coming weeks.

I thought that was Henry’s role?

P.S. Rafa is spelled with one “f.”
(SBI-Got that for next time.)
NYRB need a playmaker. Period. They also need time to gel, as LD said.
