  1. Anybody watching Rangers? I’m not an SPL fan but I was checking on Mo and here is a fun fact: In the first half, Edu was not mentioned once in the line-by-line on Soccernet’s Gamecast. And the writer was a busy sort with 2-3 entries per minute. Wonder how he’s doing. Rangers are up 1-0, so he can’t be doing terribly.

  2. Freidel with a great save to keep a clean sheet so far after Villa goes up 2-0. West Ham looks butterfingers on the back line. It’s a good thing Spector is on the bench for this one.

  3. Holden’s doing OK. I have been watching for about 20 min and seriously don’t think I’ve heard his name once, even though he’s in the middle of most things. He had a pretty hard tackle on Duff and that’s about the extent of it.

Maybe he was mentioned more in the early moments?

  4. Yeah true that. Everton always sucks starting the season than around November their form improves dramatically and they finish in top 8. Amazing ain’t it.

how’s Holden doing? what about our other Yanks.

  5. Everton is on FSC+. And Howard had a real howler – he dropped the ball right at the feet of the BB attacker who one-touched it into the empty net.

Ouch. Well Everton always starts slow anyway…

  6. Ya, I always thought Hughes was trouble. Demps ONCE AGAIN has to prove his worth, it’s ridiculous, he should be in the starting XI for sure. He’s one of their best players, and that’s what the english fulham fans say.

  7. Yeah, it is too bad really considering Dempsey is a midfielder. How many times does he get used to save that team, ie Juv in Europa. I am starting to hope he makes a move out of Fulham.

Hopefully he is just recovering from something..

  8. Not looking forward to the Fulham thing this year. I don’t like Hughes as a coach (or as a player for that matter) and now Dempsey, who does nothing less than lead the f’n team in scoring for the last three years (in total) starts on the bench. Lovely.

  9. Silva will be fine, just needs some time with these guys. He’s too good to be a total trainwreck. Mancini’s formation was a disaster today but he was very shrewd playing for a draw on the road. If they would have lost, the pressure would have started immediately. A scoreless draw may make the welcome mat for Balotelli a bit more…welcoming.

    Cheers!

  10. this point in the game i’d take the height… you never know what kind of odd circumstances will call for it in the dying minutes

  11. I’m getting pumped for the BOlton-Fulham game. To bad it’s on tape delay. Hopefully all available yanks see the field in that game

  12. I have no idea what position Silva thinks he’s playing. He’s like a trequartista, only without any direction sense.

  13. It is now looking like Man City chose the wrong player… Silva looks awful…. Silva for £24 mil or Donovan for £10 mil?

To be fair Silva may be trying to acclimate to the EPL and a bunch of over paid players, whose team is in a constant flux.

Not a big Man Citeh fan, but at least Yaya and Tevez look good.

  14. Mancini with the 4-6-0 in the first half was terrible. Should have had Adebayour up top with Tevez and Adam Johnson on for SWP.

  15. I’d take Donovan for Spurs, though we already have two solid wingers. He’d be great in the Champions League, though.
