The Los Angeles Galaxy will look to rebound from its disappointing mid-week CONCACAF Champions League embarrassment against Puerto Rico when it takes on the new-look Chicago Fire today.
The Fire could unveil newly-acquired playmaker Freddie Ljungberg, who will be looking to keep the Galaxy on its current slide. Ljungberg is still a question mark to play in the game, while newly-signed Designated Player Nery Castillo did not travel with the team.
The Galaxy-Fire match highlights a light day of soccer that also features Mexican club Pachuca taking on Toluca in one of the top Mexican League matches of the day.

I haven’t seen it but maybe its for their shirt sponsor Tennents
waited for the Pele news, but missed it. Any one have an update on what this is about?
I saw a picture of Clint on the Fulham website last night in a pre-season friendly. I can’t find it now. But both he and Eddie Johnson saw playing time as 2nd half subs for Fulham vs Portsmouth.

But the two were in Florida. I think Atlanta would work.
Let’s cut Stephen a little slack and take this as an honest question. Yes, athletes of that caliber lose game shape with a layoff. Henri’s world cup recovery is a case in point.
All the logos are viral marketing.
Fernando Torres and Carlos Tevez are not the same person.
5 best strikers of the past 20 years?
Ronaldo, Henry, van Nistlerooy, Makaay, Villa

monitoring this Pele announcement at Copa NYC on Livestream. I hope some real news enuff buzzing.
something is up with the cosmos… i’ve been seeing ny cosmos logos all over soho in manhattan where i work. no wonder garber has been mentioning NYC2 a lot lately.
it would be interesting to know what kind of secret conversations are going on. Ive’s any word? 😉
“Mexico is improving at a better rate”
Where are you getting this opinion from? Mexico has been a consistently strong league for several decades, it has not been improving like MLS has. MLS just because it’s in the United States has the potential to attract huge-name stars, something which is already happening and something which won’t happen in Mexico EVER.
Right now the best leagues outside Europe are Brazil and Argentina, there is only one league with the potential to overtake them and that is MLS. I’m not saying it will happen soon, but it could happen because THIS IS AMERICA AND HUGE NAME PLAYERS WILL WANT TO COME HERE IF WE HAVE A STRONG, GROWING LEAGUE!
Concerning NYC2. Was really happy that Garber mention Long Island City Queen as a possile stadium site. And I have the perfect location. The corner of Jackson Ave & 21st Street. The Stadium can have Manhattan East Sude skyline, w/ the 59 st Bridge just a few blocks away. You have the E, F, G, 7 & I think the N, R trains near by. It’e the beginning of the L.I.E, the entrance to the MIdtown tunnel., THE B.Q.E IS ALSO CLOSE. Tri-Bridge can bring people from Conn. Bronx, Westchester, Yonkers, Mount Vernon etc, The rest of the boroughs are maybe 20-30 min drive way.
There is also a LIRR stop right by the site. I think if NYC2 happens that this will be the site of the stadium. I think the MTA owns the land. There seems to be storage stuff, but so building structure, just the LIRR stop. Next door you have PS1 art center, A graffitti centric center ( which is crazy because the NYCOSMOS logo was painted in a loft not far from this site in Williamsburg.
I can see it now. NY Cosmos FC Park
