  1. After watching the second non-call against Dasan Robinson, I remember Marvel Wynne was penalized for a somewhat similar play last season. Although Wynne’s was even less delierate than Robinson’s

  2. As a TFC fan myself, I understand the frustration as to the non-calls regarding the handball.

TFC has been penalized on more than one occasion for inadvertent ball-to-hand calls in recent years Not including Attakora’s hand-ball vs. NYRB a few weeks ago).

I agree the calls were correct last night. However, USSF needs to set a standard in regards calling penalties for handballs. That is, only deliberate handballs.
As of right now, there are far too many ball-to-hand penalties being given.

  3. TFC fans should be sending the referee crew fruit baskets for missing Nyarko being pulled down in the box in the last ten minutes and calling Castillo offsides at the very end.

  4. That was depressing.

If you had told me at the end of last year that we would play a game against TFC with John, Castillo, Ljungberg (none of whom were with the team at that time), McBride, and Nyarko all getting playing time, and still not score ANY goals, I would be incredulous.

  5. Oh come on. The first was an inadvertent handball on a clearance – you want a pk for that? The second hit the defender’s arm while it was by his side. Just because a ball touches an arm doesn’t necessarily mean it’s automatically a foul.

  6. that game was pretty frustrating. Chicago needed those 3 points really bad, coupled with the bad tie against LA this past weekend all but ensures they wont make the playoffs unless they have a magical finish to the season.

  7. I’m pretty sure Baggio is already a US citizen, but I don’t think any of those three are serious options for the USMNT – at least not for the “A” squad.

  8. That was a really dire game.

I wonder if Nyarko is an option at all for the MNT? I know he’d have to get citizenship, so I don’t know if its even possible, but he’s shown an ability to get goals if he’s told to go get them. Husidic seems like another player who might grow into a servicable MNT player if he got naturalized.

Kinney might be someone to look at on the left in the future, too.

This season has made me very frustrated that the Fire let Chris Rolfe go abroad. Chicago has needed his steady stream of goals this year.

  9. As a Red Bulls fan I am rooting for a low scoring tie but I don’t want the Western Conference to get 6 teams in the playoffs so I am hoping for a TFC win.

So far it looks like the Fire have the edge..

  10. Toronto has been dominating possession for the most part. But the Fire defense looks like it is holding off so far. Had a 4 minute break to attend to Brown’s injury.
