D.C., Columbus set for U.S. Open Cup Semifinal

The Coumbus Crew head to Washington, D.C. Wednesday evening, aiming to keep a quest for three trophies in 2010 alive against D.C. United in the U.S. Open Cup semifinal (7:30 p.m., stream here).

Tonight's game is the only chance D.C. United has of coming away from the 2010 season with anything positive to show from this year, as the club sits at the bottom of the league table, with no legitimate playoff shot. Designated Player Branko Boskovic will be unavailable, having traveled Europe to join Montenegro for Euro 2012 qualifiers.

Meanwhile, Columbus has been dealing with injuries while also trying to remain successful on three competitions fronts. With a win tonight, the Crew would keep hopes of a domestic treble going, but only if they managed to win the Supporters' Shield along with MLS Cup this year. SBI is planning a live commentary for later this evening, so check back in later this evening.

Which team do you think will win tonight? Can D.C. salvage something from this poor season? Will the Crew trot out a strong lineup?

  1. while I am not a fan of DCU and hope for a Columbus vs Seattle final, don’t count them out as they have nothing else to play for as they proved in thier loss to Chivas.

  2. As a Red Bulls fan I hope the game goes all the way to PKs so the Crew will be real tired for their game this weekend! I definitely don’t want the DC Scum to win so I guess I am rooting for Columbus!

  3. Yeah, I was surprised to see that EJ made Fulham’s list. I guess Mark Hughes feels he will have some use for him. Good for EJ!
