Chivas USA forward Alan Gordon earned MLS Player of the Week honors on Monday after a two-assist performance in the Rojiblancos 2-0 victory over the New England Revolution.

Gordon defeated a strong field of candidates for the award including the Los Angeles Galaxy's Landon Donovan, New York Red Bulls forward Thierry Henry, Chivas teammate Justin Braun and Philadelphia Union forward Sebastien Le Toux.

Gordon assisted on Chivas USA's first goal after sending in a through ball that led to Braun's opening goal. The forward would assist on Paulo Nagamura's goal just thirty minutes later.

Gordon's performance against New England was his first two assist performance since 2008. The 28-year-old has revitalized his career as of late after being traded from the Galaxy on August 5th.

Here are the highlights of Gordon's performance:

What do you think of Gordon's performance? Would he have gotten your vote?

  1. Same. The guy just sucks. I was sitting next to a guy at the Western Conference Finals last year and he kept on calling Alan Gordon, “Snowshoes”. I felt it was a fitting description

  2. I give this guy credit for even trying to be a part of this Chivas USA team after being a Galaxy player for so long. Is he deserving?
I’m not sure, but glad to have him with us.

  3. Yeah, Bob’s dumb, but not that dumb… I hope. As a proud supporter of the Galaxy, Im glad Gordo is doing well, but I cant and wont vote any Chiva player as Player of the Week, Month, or year. Its just not right. That being said, Im happy for the guy and wonder where the hell that was while he was playing for the G’s?! I havent seen that form in YEARS!!
