A pair of clubs striving for a playoff berth face off in a must win match at the Home Depot Center as the Kansas City Wizards take on Chivas USA.

Both clubs come into the match red hot and will need a victory in order to keep their slim dreams of a playoff berth alive. The Wizards are 4-3-1 since July and find themselves nine points outside of a postseason spot. Chivas USA enter the match fresh off a victory in the ChivaClásico over Chivas de Guadalajara hoping to continue a run that will keep the Rojiblancos playoff run on life support.

FINAL – The whistle is blown and Chivas USA's slim hopes of making the playoffs are over thanks to a 2-0 victory by the Kansas City Wizards. In what was a mundane match up, the Wizards were able to capitalize off a pair of Chivas USA mistakes thanks to their star Kei Kamara. The forward added an assist and a beautiful goal that will keep his club's playoff dreams to play.

92nd Minute – Chivas USA's first shot on goal goes to Alan Gordon. His effort is easily saved by Nielsen.

89th Minute – Crowd has made a dash for the exits as the victory is now assured for the Wizards.

87th Minute – The dreams that Chivas USA had of making the playoffs are over, but Kansas City's are still alive and well.

83rd Minute – GOAL!! TEAL BUNBURY PUTS THE WIZARDS UP 2-0! Red and White dreams of the playoffs are effectively ended.

79th Minute – Chivas earn a corner and then remove Braun for Padilla. The striker did not look happy to  get removed there.

77th Minute – Jesus Padilla getting ready to come on. May come on for Gordon or Braun "zilla", both have been ineffective tonight.

75th Minute – KC picking up the intensity as they look to bury Chivas for good. A loss here would effectively end any hopes that the Rojiblancos have for the playoffs.

72nd Minute – Harrington sends in a cross that Kamara heads to himself before burying the shot near post on Thornton. Goal of the week candidate right there. Just a beautiful goal that Kamara closes with what can only be called a "Stripper Pole" celebration. Wow.

66th Minute – Chivas USA SUB: Jonathan Bornstein returns to action for Chivas USA coming on for Espionza. Bornstein's first action since August 29th.

49th Minute – Back underway. Interestin side by the Chivas USA end. Proclaiming that Justin Braun be called "Braunzilla." If he is Braunzilla does that make Jimmy Conrad, "King Conrad'?

HT – 0-0 at the half. A cagey half for the Wizards and Chivas, both sides need a victory here.

44th Minute – Apologies for the infrequent commentary. The match is not amounting to much so far.

35th Minute – Chivas earn a corner after some more impressive work by Lahoud. the pacy midfielder is enjoying a fine game so far.

30th Minute – Diop goes head against Thornton, but the keeper makes the save before the forward knocks the ball out of bounce.

23rd Minute – MISS! Lahoud comes close, but can not hit his shot on frame. Chivas coming close but little action so far.

16th Minute – A little scuffle between the two clubs as Zemanski tries to start a little bit of a discussion with a member of the Wizards. Cagey so far.

15th Minute – Chivas had been dominating possession, but Kamara picks up a knock and is slow to get up after a collision.

8th Minute – Chivas USA earn a corner kick. Espionza takes a short corner that Kansas City clears.

6th Minute – Kansas City dominating possession early in front a late arriving crowd at the HDC

PREGAME: Chivas USA may be 11 points out of a playoff berth, but with a victory over the Wizards today, the Rojiblancos will allow their arch rival, the Los Angeles Galaxy to clinch a playoff spot.
