The Chicago Fire's quest for a playoff berth will have to go through Rio Tinto Stadium, where defending MLS champion Real Salt Lake has proven to be unbeatable.
The Fire-RSL match kicks off a good day of action in Major League Soccer, with Sigi Schmid's Seattle Sounders taking on his former team. the Columbus Crew, in a preview of the U.S. Open Cup Final.
Schmid isn't the only coach facing a former team. Bruce Arena leads the Galaxy against a struggling D.C. United side that will look to build on last week's road win in Toronto.

Anyone know why attendance is low (for galaxy standards) for the galaxy this year?
I can’t wait till all teams are level on games played. All the “what if’s” really take away from the playoff race.
Seattle!!!
Sounders!!!
Glad to see Nkufo has arrived! Hope it lasts through the play offs…
undisclosed but many have speculated on it depending on the Fire making the playoffs. Just speculation though.
They did say goals are scored in bunches.
Hat trick for Nkufo! When it rains it pours!
marrufo having a joke of a game…hedjuk gotten away with murder!
HAT TRICK! N’KUFO!
3-nil Seattle at halftime.
Two goals by N’kufo and a PK goal by Sturgis.
Nkufo’s been playing well for Sounders, but today he’s arrived. Brace at the half!
ives or anyone else,
What were the conditions on the draft pick the fire traded for freedie?
I’m so glad I didn’t go to this game. Horrid.
Wow RSL goes down at any touch!
I don’t understand the idea behind soft back passes, seems the Fire lives on them
Juve?
How long have you been watching soccer? Two weeks.
I don’t think the ref has money on RealSL, I just believe it is shady the way the match has been officiated.
Eh, the dude definitely flopped, but that tug was pure idiocy by Conde. No reason to give the ref the opportunity to make that call, especially since Chicago was controlling the game pretty well up to that point.
Ref not red
I thought it was a good call in the box. Plus the Chi players wouldn’t stop complaining. The red had no choice but to give out cards.
So the ref apparently has money on RSL. I don’t think I’ve seen anything like this.
wow calm down fire
The fix is in on Chicago.
Horribly reffed match to the half
Clock ticking on Chicago’s season
