A pair of teams with their playoff dreams on life support will face off at the Home Depot Center tonight as the New England Revolution visit Chivas USA. (7pm. Matchday Live)

The Rojiblancos have been struggling mightily and will look to break a recent two game losing streak that has seen them get shut out in their last two matches. New England is hoping to build momentum after their impressive 3-1 victory over the Seattle Sounders last week.

I will be providing commentary throughout the match so please feel free to follow along here. As always, feel free to share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below.

Enjoy the action (Commentary is after the jump):

FINAL – There's the whistle. Perhaps the second complete performance by Chivas USA all season. Their first coincidentally coming against New England on the road.. Due to the energetic play by Alan Gordon and Justin Braun, the Rojiblancos overwhelmed an understaffed New England side. The Revolution did not really threaten Zach Thornton throughout the night and will head back with a disappointing loss. That's all from me tonight, check back for more coverage of the match later. Thank you for following along

Final Score: Chivas USA 2 New England 0

————–

90th Minute – Two minutes of stoppage time.

————

89th Minute – Saragosa steps on the field for Nagamura. New England, which is out of subs will continue on with 10 men.

————

85th Minute – Fito with a great ball in, but he waits a tad too long to launch a shot. Still his shot doesn't miss by much.

———–

82nd Minute – Revs earn a dangerous free kick, but the header by Osei goes out for a goal kick.

————-

80th Minute – CHIVAS SUB: Justin Braun comes off to muted applause as Giancarlo Maldonado comes on for the final 10 minutes.

——–

79th Minute – Chivas USA still threatening on goal especially with the Revs down a man after Justin Braun brought down Khano Smith in the NE box. Rough tackle and Smith is in some pain.

——–

76th Minute – Braun nearly adds to the lead after a botched handle by Reis nearly puts Chivas up three.

———-

73rd Minute – While Gordon and Braun have shined for Chivas USA, Fito Espionza needs to do better. Great space being made, but no luck on any of his crosses.

———–

68th Minute – Sal Zizzo entering the match for Alan Gordon. Not as great of a half for the ex LA Galaxy forward.

————

47th Minute – Back in action.

————

45th Minute – No Stoppage and we go straight to the half. Perhaps the finest half by Chivas USA all season. Braun and Gordon have been dangerous throughout the night and have had a hand in both goals. I'm going to look at the stats, but this may be the first two assist game for Alan Gordon in at least two years. The Revs should expect a tongue-lashing from Steve Nichol who will try to light a fire under the team at the half. We go into the half, Chivas USA 2 New England 0.

————

44th Minute – Braun and Gordon turn up the head on the Revs once more as Gordon plays a dangerous ball to Braun, who is unlucky to get in a close range shot.

————

42nd Minute – The corner is cleared, but Chivas is still threatening the Revolution net.

————

41st Minute – With their playoff lives on the line in this match — and all subsequent matches — Chvias USA has really come alive in this game. Lead by the mercurial Alan Gordon, who now has two assists. Gordon takes a great shot from distance that forces a corner.

————-

39th minute – Stolica plays a shot in that forces Thornton to make a save. No real danger however for the keeper.

————-

37th Minute – Lahoud plays in a cross to Gordon who bounces it to Nagamura. The tenacious midfielder dribbles it in and finishes it from the top of the box. Great strike to put Chivas USA up 2-0.

————-

36th Minute – GOAL! CHIVAS!! NAGAMURA WITH A BLAST FROM DISTANCE!

————-

35th Minute – Espinoza has been fantastic in forcing moments of danger for the Rojiblancos, but his crossing has been subpar at best. He earns Chivas a corner however.

————–

33rd Minute – The Revs are in a world of trouble right now. Their organization in the midfield has failed them time and time again as Chivas pushes the issue. Perfectly executed Martin Vasquez game so far. Controlling the possession which leads into quick breaks with the ball.

————

29th Minute – The game has stalled as the Band of the night begins their tribute to the Temptations. Funny stuff.

————

26th MInute – The Rojiblancos nearly double their lead as Alan Gordon comes up with a great chance on a corner, but his header is fired just wide.

———–

24th Minute – New England with a corner kick.

————

20th Minute – The Rojiblancos pick up their first corner of the night, but its cleared by the Revs who are having a great deal of trouble just bringing the ball up on the Chivas defense.

————

17th Minute – Sharlie Joseph with a vicious collision on Espionza. Should have been a clear red card, but there is no punishment.

————-

14th Minute – Rodolfo Espinoza with a great run forward on goal, but he plays a miserable ball that Reis easily handles. Very disappointing, but good energy from Chivas so far. The Revs are really struggling to keep up with the tempo.

————

7th Minute – Chivas USA enjoys a great first few minutes pushing forward on New England and Braun gets played a beautiful ball from Alan Gordon. He plays a nice side ball in that allowed Braun to blow by Barnes and put it in the back of the net.

————

6th Minute – GOAL!!!! JUSTIN BRAUN!!!
————

1st Minute – And we're underway.

————

PREGAME: A bit of a chilly night at the HDC here. Should be an exciting one as both clubs will look be eager to try and score. Three points is necessary for both clubs.
