With the European club calendar on hold for European Championship qualifying, the schedule of matches on TV this weekend is dominated by Major League Soccer.

MLS picked a good week to have some very intriguing match-ups. The Los Angeles Galaxy takes on the Chicago Fire in a battle of teams struggling for points, though the Galaxy have a few more in the bank. The Fre needs a win at home to push itself into serious playoff contention, while the Galaxy needs a win to avoid losing its grip on the league's best record.

In Utah, Real Salt Lake will play host to the New York Red Bulls tonight in what should be an entertaining match-up. Both teams are missing key players to international duty (A combined six between them), but there is still enough star power to make this one a thriller.

The Philadelphia Union will kick things off today as Peter Nowak's squad looks to defend PPL Park when it takes on the suddenly hot Kansas City Wizards at 3:30pm.

If you will be watching today's action, please feel free to share your thoughts, opinions and some play-by-play in these matches (and any others you are lucky enough to see) in the comments section below.

  1. Plenty of people and commentators seem to agree with me…but if you want to take out your frustration on me that’s fine.

And by the way, the substance of choice is hookah

  2. Aden the whole team sucked tonight, stop bashing only Tchani and kandji. Henry didn’t make his normal runs, no one on the team seem to know how to pass, and communication was at a all time low. With the way the team played tonight even DC would look like world beaters.

You can tell two things really got the Bulls tonight; altitude and missing four starters that just got used to each other.

  3. Man, if I’m Henry, I just freaking lay into every single midfield player after the game.

Then you take Hans aside and take it to him as well.

What kind of incompetent team allows the best player in the league, and one of the best in the world, to touch the ball only 2 or 3 times in an entire half. And it wasn’t for a lack of trying, Henry actually ran back into the defense a few times and they still didn’t pass him the ball.

  4. Kind of funny to see commentators saying “Henry has really not done much this game”.

Well, when you have Tony Tchani and Kandji distributing (read turning the ball over and dribbling into double teams) then he never touches the ball.

Henry is dropping back to the half line, and he STILL cannot get the ball. He and Angel look absolutely pissed off and out of the game.

  5. Ha I’m a NY fan. Bash Joseph all you want. The presence of lack of dirtiness from Joseph does not impact the dirtiness of Montero or Ianni.
