A pair of American goalkeepers enjoyed strong performances this weekend, helping pave the way for results in two of the weekend's biggest matches.

  1. And I think time’s up for Spector, I don’t think he or Clark warrant any more USMNT call ups, tough cuts but they have to be made to give the young blood an opp to play…

  2. Sorry but injury or no injury Gooch wouldn’t be making the bench. I said it when it happened and i’ll say it again…signing with Milan was not a good move.

  3. so will Onyewu ever make it onto the AC Milan bench again? Ives, you should do a story about his rehab program with AC Milan, and his prospects for playing with the team.

  4. Did anyone watch the Pachuca game? How crazy were the last 5 minutes? Miguel Calero (the Pachuca gk) took down a Morelia player in the box in about the 85th minute, the ref called for a penalty and sent Calero off. Pachuca had used all 3 subs by then so they couldn’t bring on the backup keeper. A defender, I believe Juan Carlos Rojas, ended up as the stand-in keeper, got Calero’s gloves and a gk jersey… and he SAVED the penalty! It was fantastic. It was a good save too, not like it was a badly-taken penalty.

  6. He has to get his US passport first. Not that it takes a long time but he apprently wants to go with his dad and his dad is busy with work.

  7. Maybe when he starts playing more regularly. Do we really need another defensive midfielder, especially one who doesn’t play all that much for his club?

  8. Tony Taylor 85th min sub in Estoril Praia 1-2 loss to Sporting Lisbon in Taca de Portugal

not that anyone would report on a forward from last U-20 WC team that is getting minutes in a decent club, has been D1 and sit in 2nd currently
