No. 19 Ohio State remain unbeaten in their Big 10 campaign with a 2-1 victory over No. 11 Michigan State. A second-half winner by Austin McAnena capped a dream week for the Buckeyes after drawing top-ranked Akron on Wednesday. The Spartans saw their six-game winning streak snapped but remain at .500 in conference play.

No. 22 San Deigo State won an overtime thriller with a 4-3 victory over No. 23 Washington. After regulation ended knotted a 3-3, San Deigo State junior captain Daniel Steres headed home a golden goal in the second minute of extra time. The Huskies came from behind three times but now find themselves winless in conference play.

The No. 20 UCLA Bruins found their offense in a big way with a 4-1 blowout of Oregon State. Freshman Victor Chavez netted a hat trick, the first for a UCLA player since 2007, and Reed Williams added his third goal of the season.

Unranked Michigan upset No. 24 Penn State 2-1 in a Big 10 clash usually known better for football than soccer. Justin Meram broke a 1-1 deadlock in the 76th minute for the senior's second game-winning goal of the season. Penn State is now 3-3 in games decided by one goal.

No. 10 Monmouth overcame a sloppy performance to dispatch Central Connecticut State 1-0 and open up conference play with a win. RJ Allen netted his first goal of the season in the 68th minute to rescue a win for the Hawks, who dominated posession early in the match but were unable to find an elusive breakthrough.

  1. concur with Chris…and San Diego State is incorrectly spelled in the post. Absolutely hate to be the grammar weinie, but it is my alma mater. Go Aztecs! Keep the college updates coming.
