Soccer Saturday: Your Running Commentary

Gareth Bale 1 (ISIPhotos.com)

There may not be a more in-form player in the world than Gareth Bale, and Saturday against Everton will be his next chance to impress the growing list of big-name clubs interested in acquiring him.

Tim Howard will be out to stop Bale as he looks to add a second shutout after keeping Liverpool off the scoreboard in last week's Merseyside Derby.

Today also marks the final weekend of the MLS regular season and features a Colorado-Real Salt Lake tilt that should be the best MLS match of the weekend.

  1. I agree that this ref has confused me, even as a Houston fan. I am glad he did not send off Deric, but he should have been sent off.

  2. Ref with a terrible decision in the Seattle – Houston game. Houston’s goalie should have been sent off and a PK should have been given instead Zakuani gets a yellow for simulation.

  3. Cameron ties it up houston 1 – seattle 1

Riley scored a rocket outside the 18.
Cameron finishes off a beautiful sequence of passes by Houston.

  4. What the hell are you talking about? Dempsey’s had 2 goals in 4 games plus an assist. I don’t know how you could call him one of their worst players in the last few weeks.

  5. I didn’t see today’s game, but last week Dempsey did all the hard work in setting up a goal for Kamara and the week before he scored the only Fulham goal.

  6. Those of you who are bored with your teams need to start watching Real Madrid. 18 goals in their last four matches and Ronaldo scored four today. They are an absolute machine.

Funny how all the Barca “fans” have disappeared.

  7. Not good, and Dempsey has been one of their worst players in the last few weeks. Without Etuhu, Murphy and Zamora they are pretty weak

  8. Jesus… Holden got a 9 as a rating by Sky, thats easily the highest rating you can have without scoring or even putting a shot on goal.

he mustof stole the ball 8 times or something

  9. whats up with beasley at hannover and EJ needs to make another movie come january, so does MB90. MB whatever is horrbile. looks like redcardo clark made a move and is now playing center bench

  10. Grella scores for Carlisle against Charlton. That makes 2 goals in just over 30 appearances in England’s lower levels. Wonder why Bradley doesn’t call him up?

  11. Makes you wonder what is going on at Villa.

They have one of the worst defenses in the EPL, you would think that the coach would switch things up.

  12. Well played by Hahnemann who stuffs Drogba with a tackle outside the box though the attempt or chance by DD was a wee lazy IMO

  13. Well Gladbach’s keeper is awful…and we also can see Houllier doesn’t rate Lijach at this point (didnt even make the bench)…that blows.

  14. poor robbie keane. been at the club for years and no chance of playing even as a super-sub. He should have stayed at Celtic or headed to Fulham or Stoke
