The Houston Dynamo unveiled a new jersey sponsor and a new-look uniform on Tuesday, announcing a five-year deal with Houston-based Greenstar Recycling.
The deal, reported to be worth $12.7 million, includes exclusive jersey naming rights and will make Greenstar Recycling the first founding partner in Houston's new stadium.
Houston just finished a four-year deal with Amigo Energy, but the new sponsorship will dwarf the Amigo deal in terms of revenue for the Dynamo.
Here are some other MLS stories from Tuesday:
GENERATION ADIDAS TEAM DOWN RAYO VALLECANO
FC Dallas striker Peri Marosevic scored the game-winning goal off a pass from Columbus Crew midfielder Dilly Duka to give the Generation adidas team a 1-0 victory against the Rayo Vallecano reserves on Tuesday.
Chicago Fire goalkeeper Sean Johnson made four saves for the shutout.
The Generation adidas team will complete its tour of Spain on Wednesday with a match against Atletico Madrid reserves.
SOUNDERS STANDOUTS EARN GREEN CARDS
The Seattle Sounders earned some major roster flexibility on Tuesday after standouts Steve Zakuani, Blaise N'Kufo and Jhon Kennedy Hurtado all earned their green cards. The news means Seattle will be able to sign more international players for the 2011 season.

hey, whats the collar for BRO ? oh yeah, PROFESSIONALISM
I like the new Sporting KC jersey and the new Houston jersey. Not so crazy about the new Sounders kit with the duct-tape on the shoulder.
I hate collared jerseys. So pointless to have a collar on a jersey.
As a Dynamo fan,
LOVE the new sponsor signing for $12M
DIG that collar
INTO underlaying patterns, just not THAT pattern
SAD there’s not more of that nice accenting “space city blue” on the home shirt, perhaps it’s more prominant on the away shirt
Now we just need Geoff Cameron to rock the the Hall & Oates 80’s poof hair
Now your talkin…
They had no choice – they needed a shirt to match the Ãœbermullet and porno ‘stache Ching will be rocking next season.
How can something that’s never really gone away return (see last season’s jerseys for Colorado, Chivas – away, New England, and Toronto, plus the LA Galaxy 2007-09)?
Love the shirt especially compared to how much I loathed last years (it did grow on me tho). Like the new sponsor! Ironic that it went from Amigo Energy to a recycling company.
Respect this – FAIL
Most 80’s fashion trends should stay in the 80’s…the jersey sponsorship is great news for the Dynamo and MLS, but I do not want to see the trend of teams going back to 80’s and 90’s style kits.
+1
So $12.7m for a three year deal or a bit over $4m a year from their shirt sponsor. Wow, great job Houston and their fans. Now what DP will they find to spend that cash on?
so which are you?
haha nice.
very fishy
i like the jersey
