SBI Live Q&A (Dec. 27th Edition)

It's that time again.

Time for us to discuss all things soccer (and pop culture) in the latest installment of the SBI Live Q&A.

Want to talk MLS? U.S. national team? Top albums of the year? Movies? Barcelona's greatness? We can touch on it over the course of the next hour or two.

Let's get started (Q&A is after the jump):

  1. I wish I’d seen this yesterday, as I doubt anyone will see this, but I’m really curious: do people honestly that just because Bill Simmons appears on ESPN.com, that makes him a “journalist”? Do they then also see players who have weekly columns in newspapers as journalists as well? Does Bill Simmons even think of himself as a journalist?

He’s a popular writer who does opinion pieces.

  2. How come it’s the dudes who don’t go platinum that say that? Weezy is 100 percent a lyrical genius. Whether you like him or not that fact can’t be argued. Sure, his recent stuff is too sing songy and auto-tuned but I’d expect Carter IV to get back to his Carter II roots.

I love how you can’t like “underground” and mainstream rap, it’s one or the other. Who are you gonna throw out next? Sage Francis? Atmosphere? MF Doom?

  3. He’s not even remotely good, much less “special talent”

Immortal Technique said it well – “if you go platinum it’s got nothing to do with luck, it just means that a million people are stupid as ****”

    Lyrical genius… *snicker*

  4. I seriously hope you’re kidding with that comment Ives! A lyrical genius????!!!! WOW!!!!

(SBI-You don’t have to rate him Alex. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I happen to think the guy can spit. I’m definitely not alone in thinking that.)

  5. Did you seriously call Lil Wayne a “special talent?”

(SBI-The dude is a lyrical genius. If you don’t rate him that’s on you.)
