I wish I’d seen this yesterday, as I doubt anyone will see this, but I’m really curious: do people honestly that just because Bill Simmons appears on ESPN.com, that makes him a “journalist”? Do they then also see players who have weekly columns in newspapers as journalists as well? Does Bill Simmons even think of himself as a journalist?
He’s a popular writer who does opinion pieces.
How come it’s the dudes who don’t go platinum that say that? Weezy is 100 percent a lyrical genius. Whether you like him or not that fact can’t be argued. Sure, his recent stuff is too sing songy and auto-tuned but I’d expect Carter IV to get back to his Carter II roots.
I love how you can’t like “underground” and mainstream rap, it’s one or the other. Who are you gonna throw out next? Sage Francis? Atmosphere? MF Doom?
He’s not even remotely good, much less “special talent”
