Chivas USA end coaching search, appoints Fraser as Head Coach

BY ADAM SERRANO

The long head coaching search has come to an end for Chivas USA.

The Rojiblancos hired former Real Salt Lake assistant Robin Fraser as the club's latest head coach on Tuesday. Fraser served as the assistant under Jason Kreis since 2007 and spent two years as the head of Real Salt Lake's vaunted academy program. During his time with RSL, Fraser earned accolades as one of the top assistants in MLS and a future prospect for an MLS head coaching position. Fraser will be unveiled to the Los Angeles media in a press conference on Wednesday.

The former MLS All-Star defender replaces former head coach Martin Vasquez, who was released by Chivas USA back in late October. Chivas USA finished the 2010 season mired in last place in the Western Conference, missing the playoffs for the first time in five years.

Fraser is the sixth head coach in the club's seven year history.
