Having just had all the necessary paperwork completed to seal his move to England League Championship side Nottingham Forest, Robbie Findley figured to get his first taste of European soccer as soon as this week. It looks as if he'll have to put those plans on hold.

According to the BBC, Findley suffered a thigh injury in training and could be out for as long as 12 weeks as he recovers.

Should the injury timetable hold, Findley also won't be available for selection for the United States' friendlies with Argentina and Paraguay next month.

What do you think about this news? Do you see Findley contributing to Nottingham Forest this season? Think Findley will have success in England once he is fit?

  1. I’d have to agree with that. I have a feeling that in a few years, just like Eddie, Robbiel will somehow still be hanging in England, playing here and there, not really doing anything, and doing next to nothing for the national team.

  2. Jen your trully a racist idiot.

Robby Findley is a one trick pony and without improving his touch he would not have done that well in England, As a RSL fan I really can not say he will be missed in Salt Lake.

  3. Sorry to hear it. It pisses me off the some USMNT fans are happy to hear the news. Thats just sad. So what if he didn’t play well in South Africa – he’s an American playing abroad and helping give U.S. soccer a better rep. He’s a solid player and I think he would have contributed well for Nottingham. Too bad

  4. Jozy had a shot saved by Green vs ENG that still hit the post& went out for a corner, the guy came within inches of scoring & giving us a historic 2nd win vs England in a WC. In the Slovenia game, he provided Findley with some very good opportunities & helped him stretch the defense to give Findley a chance to use his speed & he would beat the defender only to punt the ball. And in the tying goal of that game, the 1 Bradley scored beating the GK to the ball then sliding to celebrate & bring those fans to tears, it was Jozy who went up for the ball, won it & laid it off perfectly for MB to score considering he hit it off balance on a header.

Then the heroic goal Donovan scored, he helped set up what was suppose to be a great counter run to see Depmsey score, LD laid it to Jozy, who made a great run keeping up with LD’s run, then he gave Dempsey the perfect cross, yeah it was a tight angle but Dempsey should of had it, in any case the GK gambled& stopped it at any cost, the ball was left to rebound in front of LD, rest is history, even LD said Jozy made a good run to set up the play in the post game interview.
Yes he missed the sitter but Findley had way more misses like that

  5. I’m sorry…Robbie Findley who?

I’m more excited about Davies prospective MLS debut. Maybe he can get a sniff in March. Truth be told, even a slower Davies would most likely be more effective than Findley. Davies has more tools than just speed. He actually plays smart. Findley gets the ball and I swear you can just see that his footballing IQ isn’t where it needs to be on the international level.

  6. Why don’t you ease up on the shhhhshhhh’ing of people and keep it a little classier.

I have seen Eddie play in the past year, and the I think it’s moderately safe to say the only reason he’s had minutes is because of the injuries Fulham have had up top. I don’t exactly agree with Seth’s statement, but both players will be playing in the Championship for the rest of the season. Sounds like equal footing to me.

  8. Faster, harder – it’s a whole new level of play that MLS just doesn’t provide at the moment.. I feel for him though. Not a fan, but love to be proven wrong…

  9. i wonder if rico and holden’s injuries actually helped them by allowing them to acclimate to their new teams before actually being forced to perform?

  10. sounds like he took major time off after the season and was not in proper shape to play with a team that is in mid-season by january….

  11. This is what I thought, too. Quad strains take 2 weeks, maybe 3 if it’s really bad.

But maybe it’s a hamstring injury, as those can be much worse and much more lingering. Hamstring problems kept Arjen Robben sidelined for Bayern Munich for like 6 months.

  13. I don’t wish injury upon anyone, however I am happy we won’t have to suffer through watching him run really fast aimlessly in our next round of games. Maybe one of the youngsters can emerge as a better option.

  14. speed isnt what i was worried about, its jsut hsi overall performance. If you remember, stu holden signed ona 6 month deal and got hurt, if they hadn’t signed him anyway he would have had to start froms cratch finding a club, while recovering from a broken ankle, and training for the WC

  15. Sucks for him. I was curious to see how he would do.

Anyways, I’m not too disappointed that he’ll be missing the friendlies against Argentina and Paraguay. It should give Buddle, Bunbury, and Agudelo more opportunities.
