  1. Of course the CCL game is going to be superior since those teams have been playing in competitive matches and considering how awful Qwest Field was. In terms of pace though, the SEA/LA game was blazing fast. MLS could have opened on Thurs instead of Tues.

  2. +1 from a DC United Fan

I started out watching LA V Seattle, but Real Salt Lake just looks like they’re on another level altogether, after 10 minutes it wasn’t worth clicking back and forth between games.

  3. Hmm . . . Scoring one would be great. But I watched the Impact v. Santos Laguna game where the Impact won 2-0 at home and scored 2 aways goals but still were drowned in a wave of attacking Mexican soccer.

RSL will have to defend against an onslaught and hope to score on the counter or set piece. Still, one may not be enought.

  4. Technically I suppose that is true as there have only been 2 CONCACAF Champions League finals, with only 4 teams in them – all Mexican. But two or three MLS teams made it to the CONCACAF Champions Cup final.

  5. The discussion around Seattle is always “the atmosphere” and “the fans” for a reason. The pitch is crap. The team is unattractive.

  6. No, he said “puts in work.” Can’t be Jozy. Jozy’s work rate on the field is a 4 of 10. (To his credit, his muscle/fight off defenders score it 9 of 10).

  7. I tuned out the LA-Seattle game and just watched RSL-Saprissa, which was a far superior game – very fast, very exciting, great skills by both teams, and intense. The Espindola, Beckerman, Saborio clan looks and plays like warriors.

MLS continues to disappoint by staging their opening game on a CCC Champ’s League fixture. Will the suits that run MLS ever “get it”?

  8. bahaha. Not only does he list their numbers, but he always put “the” in front. As if saying “THE number 27” means something on a soccer pitch.

His over-exaggeration of everything is what kills me.

  9. Time for commentators to stop talking about O’brian White as some sort of young prospect still learning the craft. Seriously, he’s 25!! What you see is what you get.

  10. From Timbers supporter… congratulations, still one more leg to go but I think they’ll advance. I hope RSL takes the CCL.

  11. Yeah, I got nothing too. I fiddled around with Flash and stuff, it never got going… gave up and moved on. That site is really terrible.

  12. Saprissa looked like a bunch of chumps today and they will lose 3 starting players to yellow card accumulation for next match. RSL will take it, I say Morales will score the goal in Costa Rica. Espindola was a beast today and Saprisa will give all their attention to him next match. Saborio, wow what can you say, best signing in MLS so far….

  13. Monterrey is taking this trophy. They got Cardozo,Humberto suazo, de nigris, ayovi. They beat saprissa with reserves and tie them with reserves in there house. Plus the only team in the ccl that hasn’t been beaten.

  14. You must be a Cruz Azul fan. I’m not going to say RSL has already won the cup but they’ve got one foot in the final. They’re going where no other MLS team has been. They were dominant against Saprissa and I love how Kreis has his team attacking late with a 2 nil advantage.
